This story gets to me every time. I hope we get some kind of resolution about what truly happened between them in the movie finale.

Oh *&%*&%$# , Is this what is lying ahead for us? Season 13 has not be aired in SA yet. I prefer it to divorce or Grissom running off with Heather. Why can't they let them be.

This is heartbreaking. Worse than what TPTB did, only because it feels more real and more in character. Some much love is conveyed in that one scene, so much selfless love. I didn't cry when I watched the episode, but my eyes are watery now. I know it says complete at the top but I'd happily read more.

The writers are some numbnuts, that's for sure.
But you, my friend, are brilliant. This one makes more sense to me because IT IS a selfless love.

Sylvie - your take (cancer for Grissom) is about the only thing that could make Forget Me Not make any sense to me. I'm still reeling from that episode - sure, it was obvious that there was trouble in paradise (so to speak), but to go from the phone call at the end of Dead Air to what we got in FMN was simply unfathomable.

I wonder if the powers that be ever read fanfiction or any of the CSI blogs or Boards? If they did, they'd see an overwhelming negative response to this turn of events. Neither Grissom nor Sara has ever loved anyone but the other, so for them not to fight for their marriage just doesn't wash. It's not consistent with their hard-won romance that was 6 years in the making on the screen. To throw it all away in one episode is insanity.

My only consolation is that it was done to generate "buzz/interest", and they have some other resolution in mind. As you so eloquently put it, William Petersen does NOT have to appear as Grissom in order for Sara to be happily married to him. Heck - they are supposed to be creative people over there - duh!

I don't want the answer to be a fatal cancer for Grissom either, but at least it's something plausible. Now we just have to wait and see what happens.

I've read a couple of stories now with an illness affecting Gil. When you think about it, it does make sense-why "he" would choose to "break up." Wonderful yet sad one-shot. FMN, where do I begin. I think I'm in denial as well. My gut's telling me they're just going through a very bad rough patch, and things will resolve soon. God I hope so!
