Ohhh, wow! I see what you meant about the horror part. It really is horrible, but the fic is written in such a way that I felt like I was being cocooned in a blanket throughout it. When you think about what you're reading (dead mother, being read school books, prodigious, wants to please his father, no friends, goes to Ninja Academy at 4, graduates at 5, goes up a rank at. 6, KILLS people) , it's pretty bad, but it comes so slowly that you don't realize just how bad it is until it's to late. And that last sentence... It seems so simple, than you realize what it actually is, and it's like a rod just entered your spine.
The whole things just so comforting, though... Awesome writing here!

I've read a few fics where Sakumo relentlessly trained Kakashi to become a shinobi, it was refreshing to read a different view. Great work.

Haunting and beautiful. An amazing piece of work, and expertly written. I often thought Sakumo was reluctant in regards to Kakashi's advancement at a young age...you wrote this so beautifully, truly.

wow, I know that said angst in the genre, but it started out so sweet that I was completely wrapped up in the story and I totally forgot and then it was just tragic. Good job.

Good grief, you managed to push all the right buttons here. I loooved it! The first story I read that brings a convincing explanation for Kakashi's childhood. I adore the way you wrote Sakumo because between the lines you can see him breaking down and becoming more and more helpless.

I love this perspective of Sakumo's death and I love your story of Kakashi's childhood. Beautifully written and satisfyingly tormenting.
