Reviews for The Stupidity of Boys
Akamarackus chapter 1 . 3/28/2015
Away. This was the best Jily fic. It's beautiful. I loved it so much. Thank you for writing it! :-)
Marie E. Brooke chapter 1 . 3/24/2015
I was kinda debating on whether or not to give a review and I was about to just go to bed but then I felt really bad because I haven't reviewed anybody's work in a long time so...yeah. Here I am.

First and foremost, I LOVE THE BOOK THIEF QUOTE. (hearts) I lovedlovedloved the book itself, and I WHOLEHEARTEDLY agree with you about the Book Thief being required reading; it actually was, at one point, in school, but of course I had already read it so it was like "'cuse me peeps but everybody's going to die and soandso didn't even do that" etc, etc.

(Please excuse my rambling and my severe lack of punctuation. It's 1 in the morning and I'm sleeeeeeepy.)

Anyways, I absolutely love the fic. Every inch of it, honest. I think it was quite clever how you ended each section of the fic with a variation of the BT quote. For somebody who isn't very eager about Jily, you sure wrote the ship well. :)

But my favorite (and least favorite) part was the very last section, where Lily is falling in love with him and he's more subdued about his crush and perhaps - this bit made my heart still - he's not even love with her and he's /giving up/ and Merlin you sure know how to break a Fangirl's heart because it was right then breaking into tiny little fragments as you crushed the Jily ship under your heel. And that last line just about summed it up; I had to remind myself for a couple of seconds that they would end up together according to the rules of canon (and fan on) but this story wasn't fanon and it is kinda canon but you can never be sure. And yes, I know I'm being overly-dramatic and silly but hey, that's what fangirls are supposed to do, hm?

(The reviewer once again apologizes for her lack of puncuation and sanity.)

Basically, I loved the story. Now, should I favorite it...oh, why not. I loved it. Why shouldn't I? I'm very hard to please, so go ahead and feel proud. ;) *coughcough*self-centered*coughcough*

By my enchanted quill,
Brooke

I love the way you use your prompt in this. And for not wanting to ever write Jily, you sure do them justice. I loved this.
turn out fine chapter 1 . 8/14/2013
This was so perfect and so /jily/ and it's a beautiful fic, kay?
I love the way you tell their story and how their relationship changes, and you twist the quote to describe every stage of them (and yes, /everyone/ should read the book thief :)
James is really cute, from his sad attempts at poetry to his eleven year old crush, he's really in character, and it just made me smile :)
In the end he turns into this boy who actually sounds like someone that you could go out with, without going insane, but he's still James, and yeah, just the characterization :)

Guest chapter 1 . 5/4/2013
I didn't read the story, but your Marcus Zusak quote is one of my favorites and I had to stop and enjoy that I'm not the only one who likes Harry potter and the book thief.
starlight.moon.princess chapter 1 . 3/4/2013
As much as I don't read too much Jily, I absolutely loved this.

The progression of the relationship was both utterly adorable and completely plausible. James' actions seem to be very in character, especially for each of the years you've written

Well done :)
displayheartcode chapter 1 . 3/4/2013
I mainly love this because you quoted the Book Thief. Majority of what quotes that are indeed saturated with awesome, and fics like this are usually awesome because we get to see the evolution of the characters.

I often find Lily to be a very hard character to write because we only get to see certain polar sides of her. But I can easily buy this for her character. She's stubborn, like Harry, or how Harry is like her. Even with the truth flying in front of her she will try to ignore it. I like that. There's also some of my head canons in here, like how the Potter line can be...bad at flirting. One hopes that the grandkids would have that charisma.

Overall, this is a well done piece on Lily and on Jilly itself. It seems like the love switchero does run in the family after all.
Fire The Canon chapter 1 . 2/25/2013
I'm not even the biggest Jily fan, but even I loved this! I got all... feel-y lol. I liked the prompt very much and immediately just associated with Romione... that's how my brain works :P

But, anyway, I adored this very, very much and as usual, your writing is perfect. I loved this. Please write more Jily.

Great job.
good chapter 1 . 2/23/2013
I LOVE the repetition in this piece. It's a wonderful progression of years, all united by the same phrase that is changed a bit. Good job!
mysterious.girl chapter 1 . 2/22/2013
It's really not fair how talented you are. Im so jealous, I love your writing! ADORED the book thief reference, I recognised it straight off and I was like sceaming BOOK THIEF, THE BOOK THIEF, THEY'VE READ THE BOOK THIEF inside. (I love the book thief as you may have guessed :-P). Keep writing.

Forever Siriusly Sirius chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
Dear Kelly
Why are you so perfect
Why do you write my OTP so perfectly
I loved this, I love the progression from first to seventh year and I absolutly adore the quote you used. I love that James put dungbombs in her bag then moved on to poetry and paper aeroplanes and I adore how you used the quote, repeating it and how it changed from 1st to seventh year,
Can i just say this was perfect? In every way?
I love you so much right now, my jily feels are overtaking and im in love with this, amazing job. Characterization spot on, perfect.
