AmandaBaker852 chapter 3 . 5/2/2019 Wow. This is so well written. |
burnmedown chapter 3 . 1/16/2015 When her babies were first born she could sit there, her hand just like that, and fit each little head entire in her palm. This is the point at which I started sobbing. This whole story is beautiful and lyrical and heartbreaking, but this last chapter, oh God. No mother should face that kind of grief. |
Astaldowen chapter 3 . 1/2/2015 The mention of Kili's spare fiddle strings really hit me hard, for some reason. Probably because not only do I love Kili to death, I also play both Irish and Scottish fiddle... Dis. Oh Mahal, Dis. So, so, so, so, SO SAD. I no longer have words. I should probably go and watch some crack!vids over and over again to repair my feels. Why. Oh, dear Eru, why? I'm dying. So amazingly done. You have earned a favorite and a follow. |
Astaldowen chapter 2 . 1/2/2015 It hurts. Oh, Mahal, it hurts. Why am I doing this to myself...? WHY?! Not Kili. Please not Kili. I don't even have words. This is incredible. |
Astaldowen chapter 1 . 1/2/2015 And I thought my feels were shattered after the movie-verse version. DEAR ERU. Excuse me while I go shut myself in my room and sob until I can sob no more. Like the masochist I am, on to the next chapter. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! |
chestry007 chapter 3 . 12/25/2014 This was heartbreakingly perfect. Ugh. Please write more. Especially more Durin family fics. We need more well written Uncle Thorin & sister-sons stories. 3 |
ncis-lady chapter 3 . 7/23/2014 Oh why did I have to find this story? That was heart breaking, all three chapters. Fili and Kili... so brave, and their deaths are just not fair. And Dis... my heart goes out to her, that poor, incredibly strong woman. Well written! |
LouphiaTheHobbit chapter 1 . 5/21/2014 You have no idea how long I have been meaning to review this fic, especially this chapter. I thought about it so much and it was incredibly well written! (made me cry for hours). Fantastic job! I could literally feel the panic and the pain Fíli must have been feeling and it ripped me appart to read the other ones as well. |
ArmedWithMyComputer chapter 3 . 3/16/2014 Wow. This is so powerful, especially the bit at the end with Dís imagining all the different deaths, but never knowing which. I think this whole piece attempted to disconnect my heart from my chest, I just felt it was that good. Thank you for posting such an amazing piece of work, and a huge congratulations because its just so good! |
Bourbon Rose chapter 1 . 12/24/2013 You write heartbreakingly beautiful and it was almost as if I was lying on the floor, in the midst of a battle, dying and missing my brother. You made me feel all of Fili's emotions (and Kili's and Dis') and it breaks my heart and makes me want to read more and more. Wow, I think you are one of the absolute best Hobbit-writers out there. I hope I can read many many more stories of you. Thank you and happy holidays! |
MotherMountain chapter 2 . 12/9/2013 These are just so great. You capture the litany of pain in each perspective so well. I adore your work and the effort you put into the craft of each piece is obvious. Tolkien would be proud or at least nod approvingly! |
The Wayfaring Strangers chapter 2 . 9/21/2013 'and they smile at each other across the linking of their hands.' Your writing is amazing and detailed and profound - you have managed to make familiar things new again. Beautiful work. |
The Wayfaring Strangers chapter 1 . 9/21/2013 Oh... 'Tis great and sad and terrible. I love how you say so much with so little - have you tried writing poetry? |
sapphireswimming chapter 3 . 8/28/2013 This is perhaps the worst chapter of all. We have gotten to know Fili and Kili, but after the Battle of Five Armies, Dis is the one left with nothing and with no one. The one who must mourn every loss and I had never thought, never imagined until now, what that must look like. This story is absolutely incredible. |
sapphireswimming chapter 2 . 8/28/2013 Oh. This hurts so much, twisting my heart in ways it is not meant to go. But it so so beautiful! |
