Words can't describe how epic this is. I was going to write a really long paragraph about how good this story is. But I'm just speechless!

Just...perfect. Duce is at his best here because, despite his humorous hedonism, we get to see his bravery, compassions, and sense of justice here as well...and best of all, he never came of as sermonizing or self-righteous. He was genuinely funny, and he had this simple affabble nature thing going on that just made me want more. He seemed real because his joy was real. I also love that he took the time to just take Solitude in by the port. It was respite for both him and the reader.

Oh that ending was so sweet! and the story was amazing. I never followed either side of the war but I really like the story. great job!

You are just brilliant. This whole story was brilliant in ways that leave me...just ugh. It's like looking into the realm of Skyrim with a newguide, fresh perspective. And isn't that what fanfiction is all about? I can't descibe how amazing this experience was. I'm so thankful that you wrote such a magnificent story. Oh goodness. I even sort of like Ulfric now...

I honestly don't undertsand why this story doesn't have more reviews, all of them singing your praises. This story is not only on of the best Elder Scroll fanfics I've read, it's one of my favorites. It's smart, cunningly crafted, and I was hooked on it from the get go. You managed to portray Ulfric not only in his given canon but expand on him in a believeable way, in my humble opinion, and where one might expect exaggeration or unforgiveable OOC, you had me eagerly reading and incredibly impressed with his characterization. Please don't ever stop writing, you've got a true way with words, and how you managed to weave such a deceptively beautiful plot into an already established universe and concept as intricate as the one provided by Skyrim and it's characters, I can only hope to maybe fathom and take note on. Thanks for this beautiful story. I think Ulfric was redeemed and then some! I love all the nuances of his character, and beyond that all the nuances of this story, little details and glimpses into many characters and motivations. Just wonderful.

A latecomer arrives to the Dyce party, and it seems I have been missing out. I've read one other recently, a bit more lighthearted, I think, than this, and I loved it (and Dyce). I am the absolute weakest sot for Ulfric though, and was delighted to find this here, so I don't think I can wait to read the others before this one (though I have a lurking feeling I will visit them after). I'm looking forward to seeing what lovely things and feels you explore, as the revelations in this chapter are compelling and quite stirring already. You have a talented gift for dialog.

I wonder just how Ralof and Dyce got together and if it's anything beyond friends with benefits. Anyways, I enjoyed Ulfric's sadness over Rikke. I've grown to appreciate Ulfric a lot more since the game through this fic.

I totally forgot about this chapter! Now I understand why Ulfric keeps repeating the "gorgeous" line in the next. I really like the development of the Dragonborn and Ulfric in how Dyce can talk about Ulfric, from his past with the Thalmor to his time with the Greybeards. I live for these conversations.
