I never thought like this but you are totally right ! Psycho-Pass might be a parody or an other version of Sherlock Holmes, it's not impossible !
I think the roles can be exchanged, for instance, Akane sometimes can be Watson but at other times, she can be Sherlock because of her insight and her concentration. On the other hand, Kogami can be Sherlock Holmes (he's really THE type of this caracter, secret without too being, dark or happy by times, complex) but he can be Watson, when he's listening to Akane when she emit an hypothesis.
You've got flair and you use it in your fictions, it's pretty good and difficult !

I agree, I love the integration of literary allusions, and the fact that Makishima could be the perfect aristocrat if he didn't have such an evil mind. Anyway, I liked the way you drew the connections between Akane and Kougami and Watson and Holmes. Akane and Kou's interactions and banter were well done and enjoyable to read. I can really sense the camaraderie between them. Loved it!

What first spurred me to watch Psycho Pass was that Amano-sensei's character designs. Fortunately, I got hooked and it wasn't just for that reason anymore. The fact that, as the series progressed, they both found a way to "overcome" or at least decide how to live by their societal chains. I haven't watched the movie yet (too stubborn to see the trailer until I get a copy), but I sure hope their paths cross once more.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson... I liked your interpretation, though quite honestly speaking, I didn't notice the parallels before you listed them down. I love the quotes by the way! On the whole the fic was really nicely done- the transition between observing the rest and then Kougami was nice- I was worried that the parallels would end up too much but I think it was very well managed. And so sweet of him to wait up for her! Without him breaking character or anything. *thumbs up*

I will sheepishly start googling the references behind the anime episode titles. I was drawn to psycho pass on two counts- firstly it was a futuristic society and yet a dystopia. I am pretty idealistic in the sense that I would hope that as humankind progress, we move towards a utopia- but knowing that the anime would warn about this was a huge draw in seeing the creator's interpretation of why. Secondly it promised a moral debate and the boundaries of accepted norms and how right it was- I like the grey area, and given the opportunity I would slowly dissect it as I am itching to analyse Death Note. I was surprised to find all the references to literature- and I can't help but feel extremely behind on my reading to not have read the same! Sorry for rambling- and thank you again for the wonderful story!
