Wtf? You can’t just erase years of abuse! Arthur raped Merlin several times in this! He manipulated him by harming his family! These are not conflicts that should be resolved, these are conflicts that cause years of pain... Merlin should really ditch Arthur’s ass as fast as he can...

I’m kind of crying over the rape

I feel like this story is pretty problematic. There's nothing romantic about rape and sexual slavery. Arthur isn't a "bad boy" or "troubled," he's a rapist and does not deserve to have Merlin in his life. Merlin sympathizing with the person who sexually abused him for years isn't love, it's Stockholm Syndrome. I'm not trying to shame you or anything, and I think you're a very talented writer, I just needed to say that.

I haven't finished the story. I don't know the manga it's based off of, but I feel like this story and likely the manga are really problematic. In fanfiction, I think there's a line between purposely sexualizing rape for the purpose of a kink, and romanticizing it, and this story falls on the romanticizing side. There's nothing romantic about rape or sexual slavery. Forcing someone to have sex isn't the sign of a "bad boy," or someone who's "troubled," it's the sign of a rapist. Like I said, I didn't finish the story, but it really, really bothers me that Merlin ended up with the person who sexually abused and manipulated him for years. That's not love, it's Stockholm Syndrome, and Arthur absolutely does not deserve to have Merlin in his life. I'm not writing this to try to shame you or anything, and I think you're a very talented writer, but I really needed to say that.

AWW that was the best way to end that. I'm not going to lie I hated Arthur for the first 6 chapters. I hated how he treated Merlin, but now I'm just happy that they have a healthier relationship
