Thanks for reminding about this on Tumblr. It was a real treat to read it again. Their mutual support and tag team parenting is so great. I also adore the wordstruck boy that Dash is at this age. He's such a wonderful character. I honestly like this universe better than canon. Yay Laura!

You do have the perfect endings, don't you? And you always get them to say the most perfect words. Thank you for another beautiful instalment.

It was really interesting to see how they tried to explain the issues to a now-three-year-old Dash, how they were able to put it in such simple words, and yet say so many things. I really loved when he was looking at himself in the mirror and discovering what features made him look like Kate and what made him look like Rick, or how Ellery was different from him. It was such a warm moment, full of innocence and wonder.

The whole "check" issue? Spot on. You totally play with words magnificently, and I can imagine a little Castle asking exactly these kind of questions. It is so puzzling how many words have different meanings, and we just get it from the context, but kids still need to learn that, and it's amazing when they show these things to you. The language nerd in me does cartwheels every time you mention something like this ;)

This was enjoyable.

I really liked how you had Rick and Kate help settle Dash down because he was frustrated about not falling asleep. They worked like a team to do it. You did an outstanding job with Rick and Kate settling Dash down by doing what they did.

The last chapter especially the tail end, pretty much was about Rick having doubts about being able to handle not only Dash's issues but if Ellery has some as well. Kate reassured him that THEY could handle it together and that helped Rick.

Excellent job.
