Guest chapter 1 . 10/29/2014 Is Christen Norway? |
N.E.D.CL.1 chapter 1 . 5/16/2014 I think this is a really cool pairing, I want to see where this pairing will go, please make more. |
Eggnog-Drunkard chapter 1 . 2/13/2013 Wow, this was. /clutches chest. Like the last reviewer said, you have an amazing grasp of how to shift around understandable words, and it's a breathtaking quality, along with their characterization. Bonus points for very poignant reminders of how not-human yet human they are, because I see most stories just kind of lack the dimension that a country-personification should have to them. Thank you, this was beautiful. |
lost in senseless dreams chapter 1 . 2/10/2013 I wish I could actually leave a good review for this wonderful story, but it's 2:30 AM and my mind is muddled. Anyhoo, I'm really glad that you wrote a companion piece for Skerry, because it was always my favorite story of yours, and the one story that made me start shipping SuNor. Actually, you could probably make me ship anything if you wrote it, Miss Shivvy. I really love your characterization of Sweden and Iceland-it's in-character, but you take it one step further with your dialogue and descriptions of their relationship and their individual pasts, and you make them seem beyond anime characters. They just feel... real. Not every writer can do that, especially for Hetalia, which is based off of overused stereotypes. Also, I just love the way you portray their relationship in general. It just feels like it fits, with their sarcasm and reminder of the past (on Iceland's part) and in general, how they would act. (I'm sorry this isn't really in detail, it's the 2:30 AM-tiredness getting to me) You don't use a lot of fancy and sophisticated words-they're mostly everyday words. But everyone can understand the story and they're like... um, bricks? Bricks are simple blocks of stone, but arrange them the right way with mechanics and design, and you can create castles. I just... yeah. I like that you didn't use the thesaurus every other sentence. (now the tiredness is setting in) For some reason, I found myself laughing at a lot of the sarcastic parts and some of the parts that were supposed to be sad (but that's mostly tired old me). But it was a pleasant combination of dry humor, angst, and feels. The only thing I'd point out is that you have a typo in your summary (and the paragraph in your story that you copied for the summary). It should be Emil, not Emily? That was confusing at first, because I was thinking, "Who's Emily?" But that's really it. Yours truly, a creepy Asian (a-senseless-dreamer from Tumblr; you may or may not remember me?) |
