This is beautiful and ever so sad. Kili seems so young and somehow so small. Dwalin is amazingly gentle and loving to his Prince, knowing just what to tell the lad to help him pass. So well written it brings tears to my eyes.

That was very well written. Simple, but very efficient. A lot of feels, so thank you for that one.

Wow. So intense. Like a punch in the gut. Also, so good. I love, love how you've portrayed Kili here, as a scared young boy who wants his mother and his brother, who thinks the battle is too loud and reflects on how dieing is not lot like the stories. It's a different take than any I've read yet. And Dwalin's fantastic here, as well. Sorry to blather; I don't think I can adequately express how good I think this is. Thanks for sharing!

It's weird, I've read the book several times over my lifetime, and sure it was sad at the end, but it was like "oh yeah, and they die." ONE sentence devoted to the heroic deaths of Thorin's nephews. I'm sure the movie will delve more deeply (not that I'm gonna watch it! EVER!) but if its anything, ANYTHING like this story, there won't be a dry eye in the theater! But I won't know, cuz I won't be there! Lol... Now I have to go read something happy... :') again, this was breathtaking!

This is so sad, but really good. I noticed you switched tenses a little in the middle but it was only for a sentence or two. I enjoyed reading this (even if it did make me want to cry) -
