ok. so um... this was so frigging beautiful. you put me in my feels with this. I absolutely adore this.

I know I said it in the review I did a minute ago for your other story but WOW! just WOW! this story ROCKS too... maybe even more, actually no maybe about it... this one is far more coheassive if only because it's only one PoV so it seems to pack a slightly more powerful punch to it. You truly have a way with words. Your descriptions turn something 2D into something 3D in my mind... I can practically smell Caroline's perfume and shampoo lingering on the air around me. And the way you drew the picture of Klaus and his heartbreak over not only not being loved but over losing someone he loved but whom he thinks did not love him back. I even got a little teary eyed though no tears actually fell that sting that warns of imminent tears definitely happened at least twice while reading this. Again, job well done. You are an excellent writer and an eloquent storyteller. Now I'm off to go read the sequel. :)

God this is such a great character study. So interesting and heartbreaking. When I read this paragraph:
He presses his forehead to the ward, and just beyond him is Kol, who raced him from the woods to the house when they were still human, when running for the sake of running still held joy for them, when he with his creeping human pace could still feel the wind and the marshmallow moss beneath his feet. Kol, who liked the smell of sage, who played for hours in the dust of the village, scuffing pictures with his feet, who took the fall once when mother asked who had stolen the lavender she left drying on the sill.

I started to tear up a little at the "who liked the smell of sage" line. I don't know why. Maybe because the paragraph made me think of how I would describe somebody I loved at their funeral. It was like a eulogy, and so beautiful and full of love, the love that was broken and destroyed over a thousand years and GOD I wanna cry some more. Your fics are awesome and I sincerely hope you never stop writing. Great job!
