hungary is absolutely my favourite hetalia character, so to see this fic being in existence was alone enough to make me jump for joy. thankfully, it was great to boot!

i have to say i am super grateful to see both sides of her relationship with austria shown here- you pretty much nailed it in terms of my own personal headcanon! it would have taken time but i do think that as people, they could've fallen for each other.

this line is what eventually killed me, though: "His eyes watch her, nodding, but the Hungarian knows he doesn't believe her, that he thinks maybe, she's not the warrior she once was anymore." i actually started crying at that, damn you! i guess because i can't help but think that gil is projecting onto her majorly. not to say it isn't true, but this is definitely the sentiment fandom has towards him, so...

moving on! i just wanted to say this was really well written. i have to say i was surprised by the ending; it's not something you see all too often - used well, at least - but i think you did a fantastic job! i find it kind of healing in a way to have had her surround herself by her own people and culture in the end, definitely drives forward that message of "self love".
