Oh man, you really married the two universes together perfectly. I love all the ways you managed to translate the world of Supernatural into the world of the Hunger Games, and the scenes between Sam and Dean are gut wrenching. I sincerely hope you continue this, it's just how I imagined a crossover like this would be (actually even better)!

What a gripping story! You convincingly portrayed DEAN as Dean in that situation. I don't read a lot of Hunger Games/SPN crossovers. (As a mother of teenagers, I find HG VERY difficult to read or imagine. They're BABIES! BABIES! Being killed or forced to kill for the amusement of others. It's horrifying!) But I like what you did with this setting.

I loved that you had Jo and Ellen and that Ellen told Dean she'd watch out for Sam. I like the extra detail about the mayor's daughter being in the reaping as well as the fact that she WASN'T the one chosen. At first I thought you'd put Jo in the games at 12 (though that would be too coincidental) so I was happily surprised with who you did pick. In SPN, thankfully, John was much more proactive, but I could see, in this world, him succumbing to apathy, alcoholism, and despair as you portrayed. Your depiction of the brothers wrestling and then Dean singing "Hey, Jude" was moving.

My favorite paragraph was where Dean says, "Yes, you will" (reminiscent of his words to Sam before the hellhound killed him and took his soul to hell in the show) followed by his accepting blame and saying he's sorry. So painful - to be in that situation, to only be trying to save your brother, but knowing you're still hurting him because you're leaving him, but it's not your fault - only he thinks it IS so he has to apologize!

Lastly, I found the Bible verses you included so apropos yet so chilling, actually blasphemous being twisted by the "Capitol/Heaven". The prayer prayed over the Lisa and Dean was like a slap in the face in that context - I pray that prayer over my children before bed - which made it so powerful for you to use. Best of all was that beautiful, meaningful title.

I can't say how much I want to read more of this. Please update. I know it hasn't been in over a year but please this is going greatly and I need to read more.

Nice. I've been on a bit of a Supernatural/Hunger Games Crossover binge today, and I have to say that this has been one of the more intriguing ones. Many try to incorporate as many aspects of both worlds as they can into this sort of cross-over fic, but I think that part of the genius of this is that you don't. You didn't try to squeeze in a "Gale" or attempt to follow the exact "Hunger Games" plot. Honestly, I don't think that reading a fanfiction that is essentially one story with some characters from another story thrown in and acting exactly like the characters from the first story is very interesting. I believe that a good author would use the first story as a premise, and change the way the rest of the story ends up because of the way the characters interact with each other and in general. And that's what you've done with this. As well as managing to add in new, magnificent tidbits. Like Ellen and little Jo placed in the places they are. And twelve-year old Jo just being SO adorable.
Not to mention the whole "Heaven as The Capitol" arc. Wow. Just... Wow. Amazing. Absolutely amazing twist. Can't wait to see how you incorporate THAT into your telling.

Beautiful. Touching. Heartbreaking. I've read a few HG/SPN xovers today (oh, and I'm writing a "fandom" Games which includes Cas and Charlie from D6, and Dean and Jess from D12, as well as a bunch of other great characters! I'm excited for that XD !) but this was possibly the best. It was truly touching. Please continue. And keep up the great work. (THG xovers are the best cuz there are so many plot lines for the Hunger Games setup and other characters...gah it's good). But this was seriously sad. Update soon please! Thanks :3

OMG you didn't. It wasn't enough that the how fucking thing a fantastic and heartbreaking but NO, you had to put in the "Sammy I lo-" OMG REALLY?! Why why oh go I'm crying at 12:00 am on a school night WHY. The doctor who referance UGH MY HEART. God Badwolf bay was bad but this?! It was unexpected and *gross sobbing* what-gave-u-the-right- oh god, thanks for shitting all over my heart I am sobbing agh.
