Sounded good at first, but your description of Harry at 5'6" is so far OOC it's ridiculous. The actor Daniel Radcliffe is short (5'5"), but the books clearly describe Harry as being tall. As the AVERAGE height in the UK for a man is 5'10", Harry would have to be noticeably taller than that. Most figure somewhere between 5'11 and 6'1".
While Rowling never gave precise heights, she gave one significant clue: Hermione is based on herself (Rowling), who is 5'5". What throws most people off are the disparity between the book descriptions and the actors for the movie characters.
The references are scattered randomly throughout the books, but they are there.
Also, most figure that the description of the Dursley's starving Harry would have left him short and skinny, but completely ignore the bountiful food at Hogwarts. You know, the place Harry spent 10 months of the year, where he entered before puberty and would have undergone his most rapid growth spurts.
