Aw, this ending makes me happy. Yes to "Movie-skeleton of their relationship." I wanted so much MORE of them in the film so thank you for giving me these five scenes to satiate my thirst :) I also love how fleshed-out Marta feels in this. In the movie I realized how unaccustomed to feeling emotion she seemed. Maybe it was just shock, but I also like to think it was just her as a person, always focusing on the science, never letting herself feel - and you captured that well in this whole story.

Sorry to inundate you with reviews but THIS is the scene that made me favorite this in the first place and reread it again today. There is such understated emotion in this, such honestly in Aaron's fear and despair, and gentle beauty in Marta's desperation to stop him. Your writing is so simple yet conveys such humanity.

Like I said, I read this about a year ago and some of the individual details of each chapter faded from my memory so I went into watching the movie again convinced the scene with Aaron coming in with Subway was from the actual movie. Your scenes integrate so well into the film, it's as if each image plays through my mind as it would on the screen.

I love your simile of silence to a rubber band.

Also, maybe it's because my emotions are piqued due to the late hour, but the fact that Marta will probably never be able to go to a Justin Timberlake concert now she's on the run made me really sad.

I read this about a year ago, favorited, and failed to leave a review. I recently rewatched the film and had to read it again. I love this just as much (maybe more, with a point of reference so near the surface of my mind) than when I first read it. Truly beautiful prose, intriguing scenes, and apt character development. And this is only the first chapter!

Incidentally, I was just thinking the movie failed to give us a scene where Aaron introduces himself - and voila, here it is!

I *just* found this, and it is wonderful. Love the way you dug into these two people and showed what they're like inside, the worries, the insecurities, the strengths. And I'm terribly disappointed you have written nothing else. Please tell me you are at least writing your own fiction, because this was very, very good.

I've absolutely loved reading your story! I wish I had read it all at once, because it's nice to completely soak yourself in something wonderful, but I at least got to enjoy little bits of it when I had time :)

You did a marvelous job of capturing the feeling of the movie, and portrayed wonderful aspects of them. I liked reading about Marta's fears, because they were realistic and so wonderfully human, a fragility and a determined, almost resigned strength that is so hard to properly explain, but you made it seem so easy! Also, Aaron, and how he's truly torn apart by the things he's called to do in his life. Loved reading every second of it!
