Wow. Really great story. You captured the whole hurt/comfort feel that I love perfectly. I really like how you can have stories that start out in complete despair - and by the end, you've moved to a light, content and almost happy mood.
This is another one I'll probably favorite when I get an account. You did an excellent job on the whole thing.

This is really good! Obi-Wan frustration at Qui-Gon about choosing Anakin isn't usually focused on, and I'm glad you did. You let us know how Obi-Wan really feels about not having Qui-Gon around. You're to the point, but poetic with words too...I just really like this! Good work! I'd read another chapter of this ;)

You're good at conveying sorrow. My feelings tended to correspond with Obi-Wan's much of the time, even if I don't agree with some of your canon extrapolations. My own ideas are of course contained in my fics.

Some of the wording is a bit choppy or repetitive. This has to be gone over and edited for polish.

My favorite thing about the fic was the comparison between Obi-Wan throwing his braid away and Qui-Gon championing Anakin. Both of them didn't mean it the way it looked. Obi-Wan feeling terrible about how his gesture could be interpreted really worked for me as well. The shame that he'd done just what Qui-Gon had and hadn't done during that Council meeting made sense. And I always love mentions of that river stone. Don't go in for much EU, but I love that symbolism. It comes full circle with the braid to signify the end of the apprenticeship and Obi-Wan's offering of gratitude and love. The stone was trust and hope and the faith that never wavered. Qui-Gon believed in Obi-Wan absolutely, and people seem to overlook that.

Nothing needs changing plot wise, there are a few misspellings but nothing that one couldn't forgive as they didn't ruin the viewing pleasure.
And it was a pleasure to read.
My warmest congradulations on a finely written fic, it was very moving.
