I'm nearly at the end of this saga and have been enjoying it very much. I had to say, though, how well you have described the battle between Thranduil and the orcs. I almost feel as though I was there. I particularly like the way you have added those lovely panthers to Thranduil's army. Cats, after all, are the perfect hunter - quiet and deadly. Fabulous chapter.

I know I say this constantly throughout most of my reviews, but I absolutely love your stories.
I know this has taken me most of this year to read, but Weaving a Song has been an absolute delight to indulge in. I love this world within the Woodland Realm we've all read about you create in your series. The family moments, the tragedy, the comedy with the other subjects in court ... and I've really enjoyed how Almiel's story plays out throughout it.
The romance and strong bond between her and Haldir was just so bittersweet, and for a while throughout the story I wasn't sure how it would turn out. And the conflict with the twins was quite unexpected, but I really liked the tension it brewed throughout the following chapters. All the mishaps and adventures were never a dull to read, with the meeting of Thrain in Dol Guldur, Almiel aiding the White Council in overthrowing the Necromancer - and of course, how the events of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings played out.
Thranduil is such a character in your series. I don't have any words at the moment to say how awesome he is, and I just loved reading his fatherly side to both Legolas and Almiel as the story became darker and the end was drawing near. (By the way, one small thing that I loved was the panthers roaming around Greenwood after Almiel's first childhood pet! They were really cool towards the battles!). :D
I know I've said much, but there's just so much to say about this story in one review! Wonderful ending, although, as I've picked up, not the conclusion yet. ;) I've really enjoyed reading /every/ single chapter. Haldir and Almiel together were just amazing.

Thank you so much for writing this wonderful story. The story is well fleshed out its not hard to be sucked into the world. And the humour! Gosh i really love the way you handled the humour. There's just so much to love about this story. You deserve all the hugs in the world /hugs/

The reason Haldir and Legolas speak the same language is that they are both Sindarin elves, whereas Elrond is of the Noldor and speaks Quenya. However, there is no reason to suppose that Elrond would not have a knowledge of other languages such as Sindarin, Westron and even some Khuzdun (dwarvish). Thranduil and his children are probably as linguistic as Elrond. The elves of Lothlorien don't have as much dealings with outsiders as the other realms, so I doubt that they would speak anything else but Sindarin. The exception is Galadriel, who is Noldor, and who would speak Quenya as well as Sindarin.

Regarding Aragorn, as he spent his formative years in Imladris, I should imagine that he speaks Quenya and Westron. It's possible that the Lorien elves were singing in an archaic form of Sindarin, which Aragorn would not know.

Yay! I have absolutely loved this story and I can't wait for the next one. I would love to see the scene where Legolas finds out she is going to have an elfling. Keep up the good work.

I can't wait for her and Haldir to have an elfling! Can ya do a smut scene? The romance between them in this story has been vague and I and probably many of your other readers want to see their romantic moments together in more detail especially since they are married and things seem to have quieted down so they can have some alone time together. Please think on it!

I hope you are still considering making the Glorfindel/OC Elleth story. I saw your reply to the guest reviewer that you were considering it so hopefully you still are because almost all Glorfindel stories are him paired with a human when face it, a lot of people mainly love stories where elves are together! So please don't forget!

I always thought he fell off his tower because I never did see him die. Must be in the extended cut movie and I still haven't read the books yet. Go figure ;)
