I hope you come back to this story. I love how your stories show Kagome learning, maturing and coming to healthy conclusions. In this tale, I can understand how she would seek to end all the pain, given the suppressed memories of his repeated rape attempts.

While I don't usually like how prevalent suicide in fan fiction is, I will say this, I can understand how Kagome could come to the thought that it would be better. How you have it set up it lends to the story instead of just useless angst which I see no point in personally. If you are going to write a story whatever elements you put in it, in this case suicide and repressed memories of traumatic events, it need to push the story toward the end even if that is a tragic one. With that aside, I can't wait to see more of this and where you are taking it. If I review it tends to mean I like the story so I hope you see this as such. There are mistakes that if you go back and reread before continuing the story will fix and there isn't many but there is enough to be a problem at times.

I've never been suicidal, and won't be if I have any say about it, however I do know depression. Kagome is truly depressed and I can feel that but some how, and this could just be me, the suicidal thoughts seem a bit forced. Yes, I agree that everyone has a breaking point and once it's reached it takes a LARGE effort to get back to ground zero, even more so to move beyond the starting line. With how Inuyasha teases Kagome and degrades her and how he can't choose or doesn't want to, it's enough to throw anyone down the proverbial rabbit's hole. However I think all the death, life threatening situations, the problems with the jewel, battles and wounds would wear on a person's core strength, that part of you that keeps you pushing on. Seeing Miroku and Sango be romantic, even in small ways, would even add to this. Having someone rely on you, Shippo in this case, when you are only a child yourself adds another layer to it. What I'm getting at is that maybe you can show this in the story. Also, another thing, that you could show is how her personal needs aren't met. Search Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It's a pyramid of needs the average person has and must be met for said person to feel content and happy. The higher parts of the pyramid can cause people to fall into depression and suicide, it could help when you get back to the story.
