I hadn't read any fanfic for a while (last few episodes hadn't really inspired me if I'm honest) but with more news and the promo pics out for recoil I thought I'd have a look. Should have gone to you straight away as this was exactly what I was looking for.. Perfect, gorgeous, beautifully written and as always in character now im even more excited! I really enjoyed this.

You did an outstanding job of having Bracken affect the future that Rick and Kate could have. That certainly is a lot of power for the senator but very true.

I liked how you explored the option of Kate killing Bracken because that is a strong possibility of happening. Rick stood is ground in telling her not to do it. We all know that it's morally not the right thing to do but for Kate, it just means that the senator would no longer have any hold over her.

Luckily she didn't and saved his life in the process. I think as you brought this to a close, that you had Rick point out that they could use that to their advantage and that is why he brought up Gates. Not a bad move and I believe Kate agreed with them.

It now looks like they can have the future they want.

Oh wow. This was... mesmerising, for lack of a better word. I just couldn't stop reading - the emotions, the love, that I took from this piece was so beautiful and so well written. I don't know how "spoilery" it was, not having seen any myself, but all I can hope for is that we see this love come out in the show.
I love how you said that before when they fought, all they had to lose were possibilities. Not they are realities, and it's such a subtle shift but such an important one. And what I love most is that you've turned it into Kate's perspective, that she has imagined some future for them, together, and she wants it so badly.

I wonder if it turns out exactly like that. It's possible, it sounds like something Marlowe would do. Keeping Beckett in character, but still winning over Bracken.
I seriously cannot wait for this episode. I'm gonna be a mess while I watch.
