Reviews for Shards To A Whole
kselzer chapter 305 . 5/5
Okay, as much as I love NCIS, I am loving your version a lot more. :)
kselzer chapter 240 . 4/22
When I was finally old enough, my parents would tell me stories of me as a baby. I was colicky, and allergic to milk. Took them months to find a special brand of formula that i could drink/eat without issues. I would only sleep on my dads chest and they didn't call it post-partum back then but that's what my mom had. She's told me there were many times that if dad hadn't been there I would have been one of those babies that drowns. Definitely not a pretty site and anytime my cousins have a baby we do exactly like Team Gibbs is doing; being there as much as we can and helping out in whatever ways we can.

Loving your story and writing style!

I have a tat on my wrist, it actually hurt less than the one on my shoulder. :) I am loving, loving, your story!
neenee99 chapter 609 . 3/18
Hey Keryl,
when are you going to do the second part of this? I have read Shards to a Whole a bunch of times over the years and I am constantly looking for updates on you continuing the story. please, please, please continue it.
Kirsten chapter 609 . 2/15
Hi Keryl,
I have to admit, I'm not one to give feedback on fanfiction very often. I read a lot of it but it can be so subjective over what's a 'good' story, plus a lot of writers get such horrible sounding reviews that I find constructive criticism hard to give. About the only thing I'm good with is spelling/grammar. Plus I kinda feel that if I'm not writing, and indeed have never really written anything more than I absolutely have to, I'm not really in any position to judge.
Having said all that, your STAW is honest-to-God one of the best stories I have ever read. Yes, it is based off the NCIS series but you've fleshed the characters out and made them your own in such a comprehensive and amazing way. My eyes watered when reading some parts, I grinned during others. I googled more things than I thought I would to make sure I had the right pictures in my head (sometimes on incognito browser mode _) and, admittedly at times had to walk away for a week or two before I could read the next chapter. You've intrigued me, made me think and presented a piece of writing that I rate right up there with my favourite published authors. I'm sad to see STAW come to an 'end' albeit with tasty morsels of potential side stories laid out.
May negative reviewers never get you down. May brain freeze and writers' block never take you. May you always find passion in writing because you truly have a gift for the written word. It has been an honour and a pleasure to read it over the past few months! Thank you for all your hard work on this story.

"He felt like a physicist in a room of mathematicians. "
actually aren't most physicist mathematicians? and I'm not bloody reading a 600 chapter fanfic when I could be trying to learn geometric algebra, but the recommendation sounded so neat, so we'll see how many chapters I get into..
Griffindor-Mom chapter 594 . 1/11/2019
I live this story. just for your information, not a complaint. The home team always has the last at bat. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
KellieKat chapter 23 . 1/10/2019
Hello! My name is Kellie. I hope you still read the reviews, because after reading bits and pieces of this story over the years I’m finally reading it all the way through, and I’ve decided to start leaving some. :)

“He knocks one more time—maybe McGee's in the head or something—and two more minutes go by with no answer.

Lock picking isn't his best skill.”

THIS is what I love about your writing. This transition? ICONIC and HILARIOUS.

“The sight before his eyes is so shocking to him that he cannot process it. He literally cannot attach people he knows to the image in front of him.”

Yeah, this seems about right for Tony!

“The mirror. Tony's looking at this in the mirror and he realizes that both of them have their eyes open.”

This had me absolutely SCREAMING!

I’ve read a few chapters from various parts of the story, so I have a (very) vague idea of where it’s going, but I’m really excited to see how it gets there.
Jen chapter 609 . 1/1/2019
This is the 3rd time I’ve read through this epic tale. I was wondering if you are going to continue with the shardsverse or have you moved on from NCIS altogether? Would love to see more.

judygrasham chapter 445 . 3/20/2018
I think you've done a good job with a difficult subject. I've seen poly quads before...and honestly, none of them worked out over the long term. The part of human beings that say "Mine" is really hard to set down. So I think you chose the right angle to use for Tony. Given the background you have constructed, the character is responding in a natural way.

Interestingly enough, I'm finding myself more involved in the non-sexual/non-polyamory parts of your story. There's only so many ways you can have sex scenes play out, but the cases can be endlessly inventive. I haven't followed the Shards version (partly because I am still catching up!) but that may happen later. I'll be honest: when the sex scenes come up I'm scrolling to the end to get back to the story. Not because I'm offended, or think they are gross or icky. They just aren't as interesting to me as your taut, well-written case stories.

Anyway, you are an excellent writer and I appreciate your care and craft. Keep it up!
judygrasham chapter 315 . 3/15/2018
I know you wrote this a long time ago...but it's really good.

I get Tim. I do. He has every right to cut ties with his mom.

But I get her, too. Her motives were right even if the implementation was all wrong. Parents do the best they can with what they know. I wish Tim could at least keep her motivations in mind. Nobody (well, hardly anyone) is a complete villain. And she apologized over and over, recognizing her fault and responsibility. His failure to recognize her flawed humanity is not going to be comforting to him.

So: excellent writing, and I applaud your ability to bring these oh-so-human flaws into the light.
