I was a little confused at first since this isn't what happened in The Raven's Blade, though it's similar, but I realised that this is just a separate story.
Also, you may want to fix the typo: 'light coming back to Dwaling' in the fourth paragraph from the end.

'It does not need a second glance for Dis to recognize Dwalin, her brother's friend and loyal protector.' The rest of the story is in past tense, so it ought to be, 'It did not need a second glance for Dis to recognize Dwalin, her brother's friend and loyal protector.' And perhaps you could write it actively, instead of passively, 'Dis did not have to glance twice to recognize...' The story is good, only the telling could be better. But you said on your profile that English is not your first language...
