A well-written story, however... I take my hats off and pay respects to the, hopefully continuing, world that is Emerald Shades. Gen III is what started it for me for Pokemon, and has been my favorite since, and I would love to read more at some point.

I also thought that name "Alexander Iskandar" seemed familiar, so I looked it up. Turns out Iskandar is just the Persian variant of the given name Alexander, so it's basically just the same name twice. And the obvious choice for "what is he referencing" would APPEAR to be Fate/Grand Order...except that game wasn't out at all until July of 2015 and didn't make it to North America until June of 2017. So pretty sure it wasn't out yet when you wrote this.

And yeah, Mega Beedrill is definitely one of the more interesting Megas, circumventing the usual restrictions on the 100-point increase in BST by taking a 30-point drop to the attacking stat it doesn't use. I feel like that's the way to go with making hypothetical Megas for weak Pokémon although they managed to do well with Mega Mawile and Mega Sableye regardless.
