Dancing Lunar Wolves chapter 1 . 4/28/2013
Okay, and now to finally read this story.

And it's a "What If?" just as the tile says.

Interestingly enough, I did wonder what would have happened if Salty did talk to either Sweets or Candy. And I finally get a chance to see what may have happened.

And we start off with Sweets chatting with her best friend, none other than Candy, walking to the Moonlight Howl to find dates. Their motives are having fun and having a future at the same time, and they're definitely looking the part.

So now we find the two running into Salty, and here's where the story truly begins.

I liked Sweets' attitude when she sees Salty. She initially brushes him off, but then takes a chance. That was a great twist here in that she actually asked Salty after her crush on Humphrey.

Her attitude was far better than Candy's in that she respected Salty and didn't think to call him a loser. Not assuming that someone is just terrible is an admirable quality that's rarely seen.

Now that Salty's got a chance, he rushes to her side like there's no tomorrow. I thought it was nice how Sweets waited for him to reach her and explain that she chose him for her date.

The two climbing to a higher place was actually a good idea, there's a lot of symbolism in climbing the rock with someone else and getting as high as you can go, and you portrayed this well.

Even when Sweets was describing Salty, her description was nothing but positive. He does look awkward, but she was still willing to get to know him as more than a weird looking wolf.

They were about to join in with the others, howling for their dates as wolves do. But then the unexpected happened, Garth shows up and his 'skills' manage to ruin everything for everyone.

Their date ruined from Garth's horrid noise, the two leave and don't find it in them to try howling anymore. I sympathized with them both, Sweets wanted to see if Salty was 'the one', and Salty didn't want to be treated like he was some outcast again.

But despite this, the two seem to agree with each other. Sweets saying that they should try again, and Salty willing to walk her home.

The wolves are more likely to find their future mates on a full moon? That being said, Salty and Sweets may very well be just that in a single week.

With both excited about the event, Sweets' yawn breaks them into a more pressing matter, finally getting some sleep after a long day. And as yawns are contagious, Salty quickly catches one as well.

Sweets seems wiser than she lets on. Saying that "Things happen for a reason" is profound and very accurate, things don't always go as planned but they happen for a reason.

With both happy about their plan, they retire to rest for the night and all was well. This was a great "what if" story, and I loved the idea.

Great 'What If' Sweets. I don't think anyone else has come up with this idea yet. I think you should make a sequal where Salty and Sweets go to the moonlight howl and get to have a proper date.

Dead Wolf Walking chapter 1 . 1/17/2013
Haha, Gordon Pasha, you're really serious at leaving review
Back to the story, it's very deep, the emotion and reaction, very deep... *if you know what I mean*
But sadly, it's just What if... What if? And it'll be great if it's really happened to Salty and Sweets to date. . . Poor Salty

Anyways, Keep it up!

Gordon Pasha chapter 1 . 1/17/2013
I love a good "What If?" story and this one was great.

I like the idea here of Sweets turning around and giving Salty a chance. It takes her main scene from the movie and gives it an added dimension and an extra twist. It's really clever.

I also liked that, while Candy was skeptical of Salty, Sweets was perfectly willing to give him a chance. That kinda sums up how the two of them have been portrayed in your stories, with Candy being the more superficial one and Sweets the one who is wants to dig deeper and believes that there's more to everything than just what's on the surface.

The line that Sweets said to Salty about "I sense that there's more to you than meets the eye," perfectly sums that up. It reveals so much about her character in a single sentence.

It was cute to see Salty getting so nervous about being around someone as pretty as Sweets and Sweets trying to make him feel more comfortable. Unfortunately, their howl was ruined, but I like that they made the most of their date anyway. It was great to see that, even with Salty managing to embarrass himself, Sweets still saw through to the real wolf underneath and made him feel better about himself.

It was funny to hear Salty compliment Sweets on smelling nice. It really embarrassed him, perhaps more than anything so far, but she had the good sense to appreciate what he was trying to say.

"I believe things happen for a reason." Amen to that.

This was a great idea and a great execution. A "What If" story is an opportunity to take the familiar tale in a new direction and that is exactly what you did here.
