Don't feel guilty about the way things have gone, or the fact that you don't have time to pursue these works. That's just how life goes and your studies, career, etc always come first. Plus, you are absolutely allowed to change passions or lose interest in some works. Don't beat yourself up for growing or changing, my friend. No-one will ever resent that and we all understand.

First of all, I'm glad to were able to bounce back from your depression. Your health, physical or mental, should always have to be your priority.

And please, don't feel so bad that it took you so long to finish the story, even if only in snippets. I have to admit I kinda squeaked a bit when I saw that this had updated. This has always been one of my favourite ninjago fanfics, and one that really cemented my love for Glaciershipping, so seeing this again really put a smile on my face.

Wow. Yeah. This definitely feels like the end of an era.
I was a freshman in high school when I found this story, and I fell utterly in love. The way you write has always been amazing.
You really don't owe us any explanations for anything, but I think it's really neat to hear the "behind the scenes" you provided us with. I'm so glad things turned around for the better, and best of luck with your manuscript! It definitely shows how much passion you put into your writing, and getting a published book out there is totally your... Destiny (Sorry. Had to)
On the story though! Good ending. Honestly... It's been years since I've read the first part! And I... don't remember too much. But I enjoyed reading this nonetheless. I adore the way you write Jay and the way you write Lloyd. And that little snippet at the end? Perfect!

I should be getting ready for work right now, but for some reason I'm entranced by this. I remember trying to find this again, even asking on other sites and trying to track you down.

And doesn't it feel weird? I recently finished a project I started in 2015, and it felt... weird.

And it kinda feels like it's been a part of my life too. I remember how mature I was first reading this, and compared to now it feels weird.

This story is fantastic! I just found it and I am already in love :)
The concept of such different identities (samurai, pirate, cowboy, and prince) brought and blended together so nicely, the captivating plot, the cool characterization, the three-dimensionality (is it a word? it is now) of the characters, the secret empress, the action,...Such a good work! And the way you portray and evolve the dynamics between characters is really seamless. Cole-Zane, Jay-Cole, Kay-Lloyd, Nya-Kai, Jay-Nya, ... each unique and standalone, but all flowing and melding perfectly with the plot.
Plus the 'caring and tending wounds of gruff enemy' trope is one of my weak spots. Be still my heart for this is such a smooth easing in affection and more. Yay Zane and Cole :3
And poor Kai, brave (*cough* rash *cough*) and devoted to a figure who's secretly his sister. My first thought was thank god he didn't flirt with the empress! That would have been migthy awkward.
Nya! The empress arc is so intriguing and fits perfectly with her characterisation. Yay for non-bloodline ruler but rather chosen based on abilities and skills. And Jay. Sweet conflicted Jay who tries so hard in all aspects of his life. Love it! The shyly asking for a date while on the beach was supercute.
And Misako maintains her sh*tty attitude (sorry, not a fan of her character in general) with abandonment as the go-to solution for everything. Oh well, better off without her. Disfunctional found family all the way.
Yay for ! My favourite nerd.
Also, I really like how you have integrated Llloyd aging in the plot while keeping the gronkle dynamic of the series. Very clever. Same with the 'true potential' achieving tests. Nothing in this story feels forced or shoved in, so hats off to you for your great planning and editing skills. And speaking of true potential: oh my gosh I LOVE Jay's. The inner conflict and confrontation with the 'snake' concept as betrayal and lies. You amazing writer you.
Unrelated, but still: "Jay seemed to be walking that road alone, with a lie in each hand and a noose in his back pocket." Dude. This sentence. Poetry and chills.

Anywho, thank you for sharing this with us. It is really a great read and I will save it to read it again in the future (probably multiple times).
I understand that you probably have moved on with life (particularly given the last update goes a few years back), but just know that should you ever decide to continue you will have in myself an avid and enthusiastic reader.
