I love the little flashes of Rex's sense of humour in this, particularly the quip about the reports. "Necessary" indeed.

I thought the medbay scene was particularly well done. It's such a typical Ahsoka reaction, to try and struggle against the droid. Very much in the tradition of both Anakin and Obi-Wan. What is it with Jedi and the medbay?

I think the banter between Rex and Ahsoka was really very well thought out and nicely put, particularly the shift between friendly teasing and the more heart-felt reassurances from Rex. This scene just feels so very natural between them. It flows almost as well as the vine grows.

I really like the way you portrayed Rex's and Ahsoka's actions and relationship here. Rex would be the one to risk everything to save Ahsoka from a nasty tumble and it is totally within character for him to try and shield her from the worst of it with his own body. He's chivalrous that way.

The scene in the canyon is also excellently done. Rex's reluctance to admit he might be hurt, falling back on the old clone saying that 'this is what they were made for'. Very believable. Just like Ahsoka's exasperation with his 'stiff upper lip' attitude. Just the right mixture of playful banter and very real, friendly concern.

Also, kudos in working in the 'trapped in a cave' scenario. It might be cliche, but I think it can bring about the best of realisations and revelations within characters, and judging from what I've read in the first chapter, I can see this working out wonderfully.

I'm really liking this. The camaraderie between Rex and Ahsoka is very normal and true to their characters. And did I detect the hint of a crush in Rex's thoughts?
