I really like your version of how Joss and John come together. I could see John holding back on what he truly wants and then displaying an edge of desperation at the thought of losing Joss to another job/another city. As for Joss, I could see her struggling with her mom, son, and partner before making this decision because what she really wants is for John to "man up" and say that 'he wants her' and not just as a stand-in for Jessica.

No words needed was right. They sure can't say that they didn't make up for lost time. ';) Their action spoke volumes (and I mean volumes. Um hmm.) Sweet, and sexy. And a comfortable down time that they both sorely needed.

Okay, okay. I somehow managed to miss the last three chapters of this story, the first time around. I must have gotten distracted. That's my story and I'm sticking to it, ';)

Anyway, I loved the rewrite of the scene on the bridge. No Donnelly to mess everything up and having everything spiral out of control, though that damn separation still happened. At least here they talked about it beforehand. I would have loved to have seen that kiss happen when they met there on the show after he was released from Rikers.

Now, this chapter... She gets the offer from the FBI (where she should be now, had she lived, NOLAN!) A no-brainer before John had appeared on the scene. And then that night out with the girls, rocking the dress and heels (which set John off -unbeknownst to our girl), which culminated with that sizzling, sizzling rendezvous in John's loft.
(Hawt, I tell ya, hawt!)
