I like the idea but the end not much if this was a movie people might not like it

Alright~ Wow, such a great read! All in one sitting in under three hours; my phone died twice and I was late for work but it was worth it. So, because nothing should ever be left on a bad note, I'll get the cons out of the way before jumping estaticaly to the pros. WARNING: I haven't watched anything of Hetalia, but I wanted to review since this was so enjoyable anyways.

This felt like reading an anime, and while I do like anime and it added for a very silly tone that is much appreciated, it was a bit excessive for me with all the 'kesesesese' and 'chigi' etc. That's just a personal opinion, though. Grammar was basicaly on point, just a few hardly noticeable mistakes here and there. The story in itself was great; I only found a few things that I didn't like, and I'm mentioning them because I do find them of extreme importance. Not to bash on you, or flame, or be a general nuisance, but because I honestly think these should have been resolved.

1. There were only mentions of Lovino being abused by his Papa, but if Feli and Lovino are brothers in this universe, than wouldn't they have the same father? Or at least live in the same household? Therefore, wouldn't Feli have been abused as well? Or threatened? Does Feli even know that Lovino was being abused? What's the connection between all this, does Nonno know about the abuse, etc. Why wasn't there more of a reaction from Feli when he found that Lovino's wings were so severley damaged by their (Lovino's?) Papa? Or is Feli really just the kind of type to say 'aight cool, you're wings were screwed by our father when he was an abusive alcoholic, I'll just make pasta for a week and that will erase all emotional scars bro.'

(I believe that was of the most significance, so that's why I placed it as number one. The rest kind of just fall under that umbrella)

2. How did Lovino's Papa die? The way you were building it up had me believing that Lovino accidentally killed his father. Dude, you can't just leave it hangin' like that. Had me all hyped up, thinkin' Chapter 20 was gunna be a big reveal of Lovino's angst, with a flashback nightmare of the night his wings got destroyed and his Papa accidentally killed by some reaction towards it or somethin'. D: I mean, in the end, it isn't really that big of a deal, but I'm not going to lie; I do feel a little cheated that I didn't get more of this.

And I believe that's the root of my critique. There wasn't as much emphasis on the abuse as, I believe, there should've been. There was a (deliciously) good amount of fluff, romance, build-up to romance, etc. It was fuffilling, all in all, but the ice cream for dessert was left out. Abuse, specifically child abuse from parent to child, is a terrible experience. It's not something one can so easily shake off. I believe that's why Lovino's attitude is so harsh and vulgar, which suits it all perfectly, but wow... He's really recovered well from the trauma, if that's the only thing. Beyond his cursing, general attitude, and misplaced jealousy towards his brother, there's not much else troubling him. The occasional nightmares, yes; the broken wing and all insecurities and problems that come with it, yes. But beyond that? He's very apathetic to the whole experience. On top of that, he gets over the 'broken wing reveal' fairly quickly (does Nonno even know about it, now?) which I'm assuming is because of Antonio's love, but still... It feels a bit rushed how everything fell into place. And Antonio probably has his own two cents to add in, what with the child neglect and 'not-believing-in-love' thing.

I don't know, I guess... I guess I expected more depth to this story, more depth to the characters, and I didn't recieve it.

On the other hand:

Wow! First and foremost, thank you very much for publishing this! It takes courage to put writings online, and not only did you do so, you also completed it! Your determination has been appreciated! I was hooked from the start, zooming through chapters as fast as I could. I ate this story up like I do quesadillas! Because I have the ending right in front fo me, I'll talk about it first: cute~ That was the perfect romantic proposal. And I love how you pointed out the imperfections, I feel like it really hit home the title of the story, the balance between Antonio's point of view of the world and Lovino's, and just generally wrapped this story up in a pretty pink bow very nicely. You closed this chapter of their life spectacularly, and endigns aren't the easiest things, so kudos for that!

Antonio's devotion to Lovino is highlighted all throughout the story, and I believe that is an important element. Without it, Lovino might not have gotten the courage to move past many a trauma in his life. Great job, as well, in showing the dynamics between the two: relationships always aren't sunshine and rainbows. Mistakes will be made, misunderstandings will happen, and sometimes people will get hurt. This is stated from when Antonio sort of lashed out at Lovino (Lovino isn't innocent either, being the jealous-confused-tomato-loving-Italian that he is). Some fics are all just 'oh hey look a rainbow' and 'oh hey a pot of gold' and then 'yay great let's marry!'. Real relationships don't work like that, and more often than not a bad day can be the cause of a fight. So some more kudos for that part, then.

There was a general, happy-go-lucky atmosphere through the whole story. I think that was mostly in part from the anime-feel it had, Feli's generally childish personality, and Antonio's optimism. It really contrasted against Lovino's attitude and backstory, so whenever either were mentioned and acted on, everything stood out more. I really liked that emphasis on things.

Hmm, what else...? I mentioned grammar, I provided good and bad, um... Oh yeah. I think you have me shipping them now 0.0 And I've never even seen the first five minutes of Hetalia. Ever. I don't know jack-squat about that fandom and already you're pulling me into it. Goes to show just how influencial this story was!
