Reviews for The Witch of Jura
SunhatLlama chapter 32 . 5/25
Oooooo that was so good!
cheesegeek chapter 32 . 5/2
I so very much loved this story! What an incredible job of storytelling - the world you created, the people who live in it, staying true to the Trek characters, weaving in a very engaging story (I spent the afternoon and evening reading it straight through!), and telling a story set at the perfect pace. Giving us bits of information - whether clear or abstract - along the way while the reader tries to figure out who these people are. Thank you so much for writing this and sharing it with us all!

I'm off to read your other stories!

(PS - I can't believe that people were harassing you about the story's completion... I'm sorry you had to deal with that.)

I know it's been awhile since you posted this story but I had to tell how much I enjoyed it. In fact, I read all your stories and I think you're a wonderful writer. The plots and storylines had me hooked. You really have the characters and friendships down perfectly. Thank you so much.

EXCELLENT STORY! I just read it for a 2nd or 3rd time! I am not sure if I ever complained in the past abt the story not being finished (along w my positive reviews)- but if I did, I apologize. But in defense I have to say that you would be surprised how many Star trek stories are left unfinished - leaving loyal readers with unresolved critical cliffhangers - some for as long as 5 years and many of them actually ARE marked as Complete. But your story was worth the wait for the end and was one of the most original ST fics I have ever read!

All through my reading of this awesome story I was waiting for the end to leave a glowing review but after reading this final chapter I have mixed feelings. On one hand this story was brilliantly original and exciting and heaven knows I love me some Kirk Whump! But the BEST part of Hurt/Comfort for me is the Comfort part where after receiving multiple injuries, torture and even death at one point, we finally get to see Spock, McCoy and others take care of Kirk and get him to sickbay etc.

But we didn't get that in this chapter. I hate when there is a time jump in a story that totally skips over the 'comfort' and recovery scenes because it's disappointing. I still love the story overall but just think it wld have been bet ter if it didn't seem rushed to finish once they finally get rescued after 31 chapters. Thanks for sharing nonetheless though.

Excellent story. Thanks for sticking with it. Great job keeping them true to canon; "page-turning" plot.
Romanse chapter 32 . 3/13/2014
May I offer my most sincerest congratulations for having once again, contributed to the TOS fandom, a story that by my standards, holds up to any of the greatest of elite classic fandom TOS writing. I cannot even begin to tell you how many HOURS of pure entertainment this story has given me over the many long months since you first embarked upon this writing journey. I have listened to it while driving in my car to Florida, I have listened to it at night when I could not sleep, and everywhere else in between. It was an amazing journey of courage through great peril and above all, the love and strength of Star Trek’s Triumviate. Honestly, if you were a professional Star Trek book writer, I would be the first in line to buy any novel written by you.

To the small number of individuals who bitched and whined rudely at StoryGardner: take note. THIS is what writing looks like from a REAL writer. Exactly how many fanfic authors do you know, who, without a beta, take their time crafting stories AND have both the guts and intelligence to know when something either isn’t working, or needs improvement, and then take that knowledge to do the hard work required to revise until the product meets a high-quality standard? Because of her talent, dedication to excellence and refusal to be a FB junkie, this fandom has a marvelous story of quality that MANY lovers of Star Trek will enjoy long after you, I and possibly even the author herself has left this fandom. (That would be my strongest encouragement to save this fic to your hard drive because, contrary to conventional wisdom, anyone who has been in fandom as long as I have and longer, knows that good things do not last forever on the internet). We all are passionate about things that move us. That’s understandable, but unless you are paying for this work, then neither you or anyone else has the right to demand when and where any author finishes a story.

If we get very lucky, this author's love for writing classic Star Trek will continue and we will be blessed by even greater stories. Honestly, don't you think it's not too long if you have to wait a year for that?
