GH97 chapter 9 . 3/14 This is a lovely story. You have written Thorin in character he is stern but caring and I like how you wrote Dìs, other fanfiction writers focus on her love for her children that they make her hostile to her brother, I like how she is appreciating Thorin's effort to build a new life for them and their people. Thank you for writing. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 9 . 6/1/2018 Go Kili! I’m so pleased at how this turned out! And I actually really like that Thorin found out a lot of details from Fee. It makes sense that Thorin would do that. I really liked this story. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 8 . 6/1/2018 Ooo, I wonder if Balín knows what is going on? Perhaps Thorin May have shared over an ale or two? I like Fili’s suggestion of wearing the royal outfit. Okay, you only have one chapter left— I hope to everything that Kili wins... I’m glad Kili let Fee come along; he needs the support |
Secret Storywriter chapter 7 . 6/1/2018 Ah, I guess that answered my question of whether they told Dís. I suppose it makes sense because it’s likely she demanded an explanation from Thorin. Can I also say that I love that Thorin calls Kilo his little sparrow and that Fili calls him a squirrel? I also really appreciate how you end and begin chapters: it has a wonderful flow. In the last chapter, you ended with Thorin comforting Kili, and you continued that in them beginning of the chapter (whereas many authors would have jumped straight to the next morning), and you weren’t redundant or long-winded. I like your writing style. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 6 . 6/1/2018 Oh thank goodness that Thorin finally knows and that, more importantly, Kili knows that Thorin is not disappointed at all. I think it’s really clever that you had the parts between Dís and Kili: it was unexpected, and I think it enhanced the interaction between Thorin & Kili since Thorin jumped in. I want to see Fili’s relief know that he knows that Thorin knows the situation. I wonder if they’ll tell Dís. Hmm. Unlikely? I wonder if Dwalin will find out too... |
Secret Storywriter chapter 5 . 6/1/2018 Oh, Kili! Oh, my dear hotheaded, passionate, quick-thinking, not-calculating Kili. The poor kid thinks Thorin is going to hate him, but I’m sure he won’t. If anything, Thorin probably has a similar anecdote from when he was younger. Thorinnnnn please fix thissss |
Secret Storywriter chapter 4 . 6/1/2018 I found it amusing that Dís told Thorin to stop wiping his feet on the stool — was that a nod at the first Hobbit movie (when Kili wipes the mud off his feet onto Bilbo’s mother’s glory box)? Oh, Kili. No doubt Thorin was going to comfort him. I bet Thorin knew Kiki was awake and sighed bc he couldn’t believe his nephew is still avoiding him to this extent. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 3 . 6/1/2018 I really appreciate that Dwalin didn’t laugh at Kili, but actually went along with what he was saying. In that same line of thought, it’s refreshing to hear Fili learn from that conversation and mention “not neglecting one skill for another.” I think authors can sometimes be hasty to label Fili & Kili as entirely reckless or complete warriors and they’re neither. I think you’ve done a good job here. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 2 . 6/1/2018 He must be really upset if he’s missing easy targets.. |
Secret Storywriter chapter 1 . 6/1/2018 :/ Is Kili being bullied, I wonder? But I’d wager that Fili would step in if it was by a peer. Perhaps a trainer that hasn’t been hurting him? |
green-jedi chapter 9 . 5/5/2017 This was such a poignant, real tale. Thank you so much for taking the time to write it. |
Unterflieger chapter 7 . 4/19/2017 this is bitter sweet and makes The Hobbit 3 worse... They had to watch each other die... God I hate that movie so so much I cry every single damn time |
RosieBrie chapter 9 . 8/11/2016 Loved it! Some parts even brought me to tears a little. Hehe. :) Great job! |
FungusCat chapter 9 . 8/22/2015 OMG! This was absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for writing this story. |
Rinhail chapter 1 . 5/20/2015 This looks like it's going to be a very interesting story. :) |
