I am surprised by the lack of L and Watari stories, so this made me happy. I honestly don't know how L managed to live for so long eating nothing but sweets (maybe Watari spiked his desserts with vitamin powder?) but I like how you made it feel realistic here, rather than it just being a gimmicky quirk.

I don't really understand how the last verse fits in, though. Your mind made a leap that mine didn't follow.

I can't believe nobody has reviewed this yet! What a fantastic story, congratulations! I loved how you managed to keep both L and Watari in character while expounding on L's very mysterious background and upbringing :)

I always found the relationship between L and Watari to be very sweet, although he didn't show it much, I think L really cared for Watari and saw him as something of a father figure. Oh I wish we had gotten more of a back story in the series regarding those two, it would have been so nice to learn how they met, and why Watari brought little L to Wammy's House on that snowy night all those years ago :)
