So THAT'S how they lost the ponies. Doing eachother's hair and not paying attention to what they were supposed to be doing.

I enjoyed it. But that part where they talk about Erebor and feasts got me a bit teary-eyed tbh.

Ah, so THAT'S how they lost the ponies! :-D Seriously, though, it's a very sweet piece. There's a lot of fantastic lines. Here are a few of my favorites: "'Uncle won't see. Don't be embarrassed, we do this all the time at home.' 'Yes, but no one else but Mother knows.'" LOL. Also, 'Did you climb a dozen trees while I was not looking? There appears to be a whole branch in your hair.' I also love the brothers' discussion of Erebor. It makes sense that they would dream of, and wonder about a place that their uncle loved, and that was their home, but was not a place they had ever seen. I also liked the refrain about adventures not being as glorious as they seemed in books. Thanks for sharing!

I love these tender playful moments between them. They are soo... almost heartbreaking in a way just knowing what awaits the two of them. I thought you painted this scene rather well, great job. :)

That's a fantastic job you did here.

That was very sweet, nice too see just some affection between the brothers and not romance. You described things very well so the reader knew just what the characters were doing while they spoke.

This is great! I love it! It's a sweet explanation as to why the brothers were so conveniently absent when the ponies were stolen (when they were supposed to be watching). New fave! :)
