werewolfsfan chapter 1 . 5/20/2008 I can't believe I didn't leave a review the first time that I read your beautiful story. But I came back to your page thanks to a recommendation in The Moony and Padfoot Parlour on this site. /topic/44736/5359890/1/ I love the entire story but I was especially moved by this: Sirius thought that was a poor substitute, but said nothing. He felt profoundly sad that he had to witness another generation grow up with nothing but stories to connect them to people long gone. People who would have given so much love and wisdom and laughter to these children, if they had lived. Never had Sirius felt as inadequate as those times when he told Harry stories about James and Lily. Harry thrilled to hear these tales, but the most eloquent words in the English language never approached the reality of Lily and James. Words were pale pastels compared to the vibrant colors of a life shared with others. Words were all Sirius had to give, and they were not enough. And this is especially telling considering DH and Teddy Remus Lupin. Andromeda can tell Teddy of Tonks but who is left who really knew Remus or Moony rather than Professor Lupin. |
tears-of-a-different-shade chapter 1 . 9/19/2007 That's so sweet and terribly sad! Great job! You have a way with words. |
GreenMeansGo chapter 1 . 4/25/2006 I loved it. It was simple and the idea of the story was brilliant. |
Anathema2 chapter 1 . 7/4/2003 Oh, my God...that made me cry. I love your metaphors. |
mysid chapter 1 . 2/21/2003 Beautiful story-sad without being sappy and saccharine. I found it interesting that Remus died, not fighting Voldemort, but of an incurable illness. It made the tragedy more "human," more "everyman." I think the saddest part is when Harry points out the importance of sharing stories of those who are gone with the children who don't remember them, and Sirius knows that, "Words were pale pastels compared to the vibrant colors of a life shared with others. Words were all Sirius had to give, and they were not enough." |
taliesin1 chapter 1 . 8/27/2002 *wipes tears from eyes* Gets me every time... That was well written, and I think the idea of a legacy for Remus fits well. I also liked the bit about a generation of people who were only kept alive through words. It really is a sad thought... |
Lightning.fang chapter 1 . 8/6/2002 ooooooooooh. it's so sad. I frankly hope that nothing like that'll happen to me! Losing your mate must be terrible. needing him and not having him. é_è The story was good though. if it weren't so sad, it would be great (but I don't like the thought of Remus dying *squeeze a Remus-plushie strongly against her*) |
Kasigi Omi chapter 1 . 8/4/2002 Good God, that's sad! But beautiful all the same, and well written. When a story manages to bring the reader to tears, the words were well chosen and the purpose well executed. Good job. |
