Yuja chapter 1 . 7/3/2013 Amitiiiiiiii. ;o; I swear, that poor guy needs a hug for all the stuff he has to deal with. I love how well you convey Amiti's emotions on his realization. The repetition of Tret's quote really shows the trouble he's having with accepting the possibility. On one hand, he's solved the mystery of his parentage. On the other hand, the solution to that mystery was one of the last people he could possibly want to be associated with at that time. Congrats, buddy, you're descended from the original legends, too, just not from one of the heroes. "If he was his only child." Oh Alex, you heart breaker you. ;D I'm assuming this is set not long after meeting Tret, and before Alex/Arcanus saved all of their keisters by confronting Blados and Chalis. It'd be neat to see if Amiti's views about his lineage change at all by the end of the journey, after learning that Arcanus may actually be Alex and all the battles are said and done. |
Solar Boy Aaron chapter 2 . 6/2/2013 I want to see more of this! Make maybe Rief after? |
Jupitergirl132 chapter 2 . 6/1/2013 Woah. That was just... Woah. But the last two sentences made me feel dè já vú. I was like "Woah-wait where have I seen this somewhere before?". Either way it was great. I agree that Matthew should try whatever he wants. But its good to know that he's okay with living up the legacy. He is and always be Matthew. Can't wait to see more! ;) |
Solar Boy Aaron chapter 1 . 3/6/2013 Interesting theory about Imil being a Lemurian colony... |
Hawki chapter 1 . 1/26/2013 Because this is pure narrative, and due to its flow, it's hard to pick out individual segments to comment on. So, commenting generally, I thought this was well done. Obviously the Amiti-Alex dynamic is a logical sore spot for the former, but it was definately well conveyed here. Good writing, and good emotional depth. |
Leoshi chapter 1 . 1/10/2013 I saw your shameless plug. I am so happy I could burst! Hahaha. All in all, a satisfying look into the psyche of Amiti. You've granted him a lot of depth based on the pre-conceived development, and followed it well. What I like the most is how you don't focus solely on the truth that pains him, but the implications it could bring - namely, how his friends may treat him when they, too, feel the pain of the truth. His depression is not unfounded, given the deplorable actions of his lineage. So great work, through and through. Also, it's nice to see more stories that do not rely on dialogue to push them forward. It means that the characters are real on a deeper level. Now, I did spot a few errors, some of which might be my personal taste: -He even had a ship with which he could have left in.- You've got the prepositions a little mixed-up here, because you're still ending the sentence with one. You can fix it easily by changing "with which" to "in which", and scrapping that "in" on the end. -First, he had feared his aloof treatment by Tret was due to his misplaced belief that they had been gods.- Now, I haven't played the game in about a year, but wasn't Amiti the one who had behaved aloof in front of Tret? Amiti had even bowed before him, right? If so, "aloof treatment by Tret" is misleading, because it makes the reader think Tret was the aloof one. Swap that "by" for something like "toward," and you'll have a solid implication. *This is assuming I'm correct about the scene in the game. If Tret actually was the aloof one, then ignore me and be on your merry little way.* -Amiti had never felt ashamed of his existence, of his powers, until that moment. He—it—was the reflection of his father...- This one took a bit to nail down. I'm assuming that the "it" here is referring to his psynergy, but the singular-plural sense is misconstrued by the use of "powers" in the line above. You can either change "powers" to "power," the better choice, or change "it" to "they," and edit the "was the reflection" line accordingly. That's all I have. Looking forward to more in this tale, particularly Sveta and Eoleo. Talk to you later! Leoshi |
Jupitergirl132 chapter 1 . 1/10/2013 Wow. That was amazing! I'm guessing that you aren't putting in any shippings. But I'm cool with it. As long as there isn't any Spiritshipping, Sparkshipping, or Stormshipping. I'm good. Cause I am and always will be a Dawnshipper, Singeshipper(or Hurricaneshipping), and Seveneyeshipper. |
Mr-Mikul chapter 1 . 1/10/2013 Hi Spirit Seer, bet you didn't imagine to see me posting here! XD I'm finished with golden sun in general but i saw this and i just had to leave a comment here. This chapter is incredibly angsty and i really like that about this chapter, I can see myself going through these same doubts if i were in Amiti's shoes great work here! |
