Kate certainly needed a breakdown and you made her eloquently get it all out while wearing comfy clothes, which really rang true. I like how you eased them into a little bit of 'normal,' their version anyway. I am not sure if I've read a story that dissected those 2 weeks so well. Thanks for a great read.

Good point about the security of the evidence. I know that's odd of me to start a review that way, I just can't help but appreciate the practicality. You captured how all over the place Kate must have been that day and Castle's sweetness in understanding her not calling and that she needed a change of scenery.
