After a bad breakup this weekend, I watched IMAY three times over to console myself (and remind myself that love does still exist somewhere out in the world). Popped over here to check out some extended scenes via the lovely minds of fanfic writers.

And I've got to say, you've done a bang up job here. Spot on characterizations. Dialogue on point. Edie was done particularly well and the banter in that scene was so perfect and reminiscent of the supermarket bit in IMAY.

Great one-shot!

This is an absolutely wonderful one-shot. I loved the way you capture the essence of Rachel and Luce's relationship: playful, passionate and sooooo cute!

The first slash I've been able to handle without getting all tingly from all the RUCE LIVE. I'm not saying there isn't any in this story, because there DEFINETLY IS

The only thing I'm unsure of is why Edie would be there to water the plants so soon after Luce had left. But who cares, right? Edie is a criminally underused character in the movie, which seems to favour Coop (who, while being a great, entertaining character, is a bit of a cliche "crass but funny male best friend" in romantic comedies). The shortage of Edie scenes is IMAY's biggest flaw IMO, so shoehorn her in anywhere you can, I say!
I've never been able to decide whether Rachel & Luce would jump each other the moment they were somewhere private, or if they would take things slowly and make love for the first time days or weeks later. I've read fanfics that have convinced me of both, but yours has, at least for now, swung the pendulum in favour of the former. Well done, I hope you write more.
