If u r good at writing medical fic, giving one or both men a nasty case of aspiration pneumonia would be a believable complication from inhaling contaminated sea water. Aspiration pneumonia is very serious and takes a long while to get over. Just sayin'.

I am so so sorry I hadn't given a proper review before now. I had it on my to-do list, it was always in the back of my mind - 'i need to review that fic'. Usually when I'm done reading I put out a review right away. But this time I couldn't because I just couldn't find the words to describe how very much I loved it. So I went away for a bit, hoping something would come to me but it hasn't. You know those fics where you honestly couldn't express your emotions in anything more than a bunch of incoherent keyboard pounding? Really, my review for this should be aksjfhiuhgiuhdsiuhdsijvgfdsh vdiuhvdjdvnjdfngdndfj. But you deserve so much more than that, so I'm going to try to express my feelings for how much I love this in words:

Well, wow. Wow. I love love love love love this. I don't know how to explain to you how much I love it but you need to know I love it so so much. WOW. The whole premise; the four of them (bless you for including dimmock!) out at sea UGH i already love it to pieces and wow. I love the way the group is divided, not into the normal categories of Dimmock and Lestrade / Sherlock and John but into a situation where John and Dimmock are the ones who have to band together to fix things and where rather than Lestrade saving Sherlock, it is the other way around and KHDSFIUHIJFD because now Sherlock has to come to terms with how much Lestrade means to him and ksjdfhi i love this love this love this love this

and then your writing itself is just extraordinary. I've been reading this for days straight. This is my guilty pleasure fic, I could read it forever, and everytime I do I notice something else about how beautiful your writing is. LOVELY LOVELY. It is so visual and so real and so wonderful wow - the way you describe the water, and how strong it is, how weak they are engulfed by it - it makes me feel that helplessness, that fear like I'm getting tossed around in a storm while reading it and your style - i know i have said this before - but it is magnificent owefgnddifuhdsfghj.
