OMG Nikki, you updated! I am so happy I could dance. I love how fast this chapter moved and I really see that you are world-building, I am a bit confused though, are Renji and Ichigo cops? Military? a part of some kinda anti-gang government group? Is this the same group Shinji was a part of or something different? Thanks for updating!

Oh, yeah! The last two chapters have me so excited! I keep trying to imagine Grimmjow with this close cut hair thing he has going on, but I just cannot. It is hard for my mind to visualize him without a full head of hair. Sigh... I will be anxiously awaiting your next chapter! Love you!

I recently finished re-reading both Chrysalis and Unfurling from start to finish, and they're still my favorite fics of all time. I'm familiar with second-hand embarrassment when characters in a story do something cringy, but Chrysalis is the only fic that has ever made me feel second-hand happiness, if that's even a thing. You wrote Grimmjow and Ichigo's relationship so well, and the ending where it all goes to hell still rips my heart out every time, even my third (or is it fourth already?) time reading it.

I really hope these two get their happy ending-god knows they deserve it after all the crap they went through.

Oh, and before I forget: Grimmjow's dad is basically my favorite OC ever. The part where he keeps sneaking pics of Ichigo and Grimmjow still gets me cackling

Ahh. Seeing this story get updated truly warms my heart. I've actually reread this as well as the prequel in the past few months. I was taken on a fantastic whirlwind of emotion and I have to thank you for it. You truly have a way with words.

To speak on the chapter itself, I felt a sense of... nostalgia as I read Granted, Ichigo did as well, so I'm not surprised. I actually felt as if I was going through the motions alongside him. Hell, I even started feeling anxious as Yama said Aizen, Gin and Tousen's names. I am SUPER curious to see what happens next. Thank you for the update and I hope all is well!
