Wow. This is a bitter-sweet story wich makes you cry for the boys... And it's very well written! Kaito loosing his eyes... I really like his eyes, so it was really hard to read about it at first... But it got better :) really good story

The story was so sad and touching and all..
Though I feel so bad carrying the giddy feeling I had after watching The Hobbit trailer when I read this.
I can't feel the pain that much cause the hyper excited feeling didn't exactly leave me.

But ooooh, your writing style is nice.
You drawled out both their feelings as the mute and the blind well. The mixture of insecurity for both themselves and their partners.

This is certainly a creative plot you have going here. Though I am honoured that you would write a story that protrays characters with disabilities... I wonder how you cane up with some of your ideas.

I was born blind. I know there is a difference between someone born with a disability and those who obtain then later on in life. However, blindness is still blindness and I feel the need to enlighten you on a few things.

I know Kaito is extremely smart but it took me two years to learn braille and another year to work on proficiency. Its one thing reading braille with your eyes and another to read it with your fingers. I know a few braille teachers who can't read braille with their fingers, but know braille fluently with their eyes.

I never understood why sighted people believe we use our canes absolutely everywhere. I've never used by cane in a house before. I was the crazy one who rarely used by cane in school. Instead I memorized everything as fast as possible. First time I enter a new location I ask for a detailed tour. Sure I've run into plenty of things, fallen down quite a few stairs, and run into quite a few people; but that's simply part of a blind person's life,

Last but not least... Your method of communication. Why something so complex? A simple computer or iPad has everything you need. That's how I talk to my non verbal friends. We text, use a voice engine to convert text to speech, and use simple phrase clips to communicate. There is even tactile sign language. That would make communication so much easier. Just a suggestion though.

I'm not at all angry or offended. I just feel the need to help correct people who don't have disabilities to understand us who do better. I want to erase stereotypes and have people understand that we are people too. We are trying to live our lives the same way everyone else is. We just need to get more creative in our ways of living than the average person.

Love it. Just...love it. I can't really describe my feelings for this story. It's just too...awesome? Not exactly. Especially so when this is about disability. Sad but...that not the right word I want. Bitter-sweet? Nah. Too strong. Warm? Hmm...maybe. Touching? Could be ... ... ... I need to work on my vocabulary.

Chikage is so, so great in this. She never had a big role in MK, so of course people might forget about her, but this is exactly what allowed you to shape her into someone who is much needed in this story. Kudos for seeing this opportunity and exacting it so elegantly.
