I can ... actually imagine seeing this episode on tv. The addendum at the end about emperor Elagabalus collecting cobwebs adds another dimension to the strangeness of the roman empire.

This was interesting, and the characters were in canon. The emperor reminded me of the Prime Minister Pitt the Younger from BlackAdder III, rather more than Hugh Laurie's prince... Pray continue, and yes, I'd like to see BlackAdder VI, I can't remember who was ruling England in 1689. Damn.

After reading this, I just found it that Elagabalus is colossal pervert, although not in the scale of Nero and Caligula, and interestingly, made himself sort of the "bottom" rather than the "top". Your Elagabalus is rather accurate in his behavior indeed. The only thing missing is that blond slave he made charioteer and whom he calls his husband.

By the way, I do like Blackadder but I only watched few episodes of Blackadder Goes Forth. Funny show really, it really got me laughing. Especially that pigeon episode.
