I just want to say WOW! I was passing time on a greyhound bus googling fan theories about Ms Frizzle being a Time Lady when I stumbled across your fanfiction. These three stories have given me a new perspective on a childhood favourite series and one of my favourite sci fis all in one fell swoop. More so, as both a whovian and a childhood fan of The Magic School Bus, this gave me so much closure and made both series more real to me. Congratulations, this has officially become my head canon! Well done!

Just one question though; was Frizzle talking to The Doctor in orbit at the end? I'm figuring this takes place around the time of the Time War and I'm imagining John Hurt's War Doctor reprimanding the regenerated Ms Frizzle in either the BUS or TARDIS. For me the line that says that neither one of them is beloved by the council convinces me she's talking to the war doc :)

Well, I have to say I've read and re-read this old fic of yours - even more so now that I'm following Frizzy Hair - so I feel I just have to leave a review this time.

If your stories of the adventures of the Teacher/Friz can now be considered a series, then this - the story that started it all - is undoubtedly the best of them all. Quite possibly the best story you have ever written.

The emotional charge, the revelations of the lives and futures of Miss Frizzle's students, the way you describe each of their encounters with their teacher's new incarnation, their reactions...no one put it better than Tech Sergeant Wanda Li, US Air Force. "We've all been Frizzled. For the last time."

Then the final passage, made suitably mysterious by the abscence of the speaker's identities, finishing with a dark tolling of a bell, heralding the Time War. The story of her part in that war - especially whether she survived like a true renegade, just like her two more famous kinsmen - is brilliantly left to our speculation.

And throughout the whole of this one-shot, you don't miss a detail, with respect to both universes. It was good to see a parallel to the 10th Doctor's farewell tour and the cameo of the TARDIS in Ralphie's segment - I certainly remember smiling at that the first time I read this. When I wasn't close to tears by the end, that is.

It all adds to the wonder if what you'll include in Frizzy Hair as you go on - and Conversations, if you ever get to that. And the unanswered questioms simply add to the excellent sense of mystery.

Just how did the year of the Magic School Bus end (looking forward to how you write that)? Will we ever learn if the Friz survived her people's destruction or not? Will her students meet her again - or maybe another Time Lord she might have known (guess that might be the one she speaks to - and who that might be)? Have we just seen the ultimate fate of her class - their last magical encounter - or is there more to their futures than even the Teacher could see? Will they all be thrown into a series of extraordinary adventures once more? Will they learn the truth of their childhoods - and, as the Teacher asks herself, will they love or hate her for it?

All in all, a solid ten out of ten. This story was certainly worthy of spawning a series - and it was what lead me to say your portrayal of the Time Lord known as Miss Frizzle was the best on this site in my first review. Thank you so much for it.

P.S. I know you've been asked this before, but were you thinking of any particular actress when you wrote the Friz's new incarnation? Good luck on Frizzy Hair - and any other stories you might have planned for this series.
