Yikes, that start was scary, even with the implication of the title! I might have seen too many real life murder documentaries... One thing I particularly love is that Luke was in fact well on his way to being the next Uncle Louis before Lorelai came along. I quite like the idea that maybe he wasn't always as nice as we've known him, it's quite humanising.

This was absolutely wonderful and so well-written! You captured what should have happened. The writers of the show seemed to think they had to keep them apart or the show would get boring but all they did was add stupid complications.

I usually run as fast and as far as possible away from any real efforts to confront or deal with the emotional and relationship baggage in my own life, so it feels strange to say this, but I actually ENJOYED reading this eminently believable and in-character chapter of Luke and Lorelei actually working it out and facing the things they've done and the unhelpful patterns they've fallen into over the years.

Somehow, all this honest talking felt far more intimate and meaningful than the best make-up sex scene anyone could ever imagine.

Great story. I certainly wish you'd written for season 6 & 7 GGs. It wouldn't have had to stop watching it mid-way during season 6 and season 7 would have been a delightful end to a formerly wonderful series.

What a remarkable ending to a very remarkable story. You have done a great job of capturing the true essence of what I believe to be the real Luke and Lorelai: so deeply in love, so committed, but so off center too much of the time. With your careful guidance, Luke has evolved into a better man, a more open man, a man very concerned about his emotions and the emotions of those he loves and those he has around him. That is the Lorelai influence: she helped make him into a more kind, generous, and loving person. And, now, thankfully, they will both benefit from his grown for the rest of their happy and interwined lives. And, Lorelai, has grown also with your careful guidance. Along with Luke's revelation about his behavior and his actions, Lorelai relaizes some of her faults also. Both are committed to working on their issues and growing together and growing better. I think it would be very enjoyable to see how the locals react to knowing that Lorelai is back and seeing how much better Luke and Lorelai are now together than they were before. And, so glad that you had Chris be smart enough to move out on his own. Luke and Lorelai are together and they will make sure that they are clear and open with each other - and that is both wonderful and significant. Thanks so much for this most excellent delving into the characteraction of my two favorite characters. Keep up your excellent writing and - share with us. Thanks.
