You know what? You really nailed Sam, and especially Sam in season 8, here. This is beautiful writing, beautiful characterisation and wonderful story-telling. I loved seeing properly into Sam's year with Amelia, seeing her as a real, rounded person instead of the rubbish the show forced down our throats, and I loved seeing Sam's shaky commitment to the Impala strengthen and build as he realised that he might not have photo albums or memorabilia of his family and life but he has her and it means something. Love your work!

Nahh, but seriously, nice story. It was interesting to see Sam develop some confidence in himself. It was a new perspective, since I always tend to take Dean's side a little more, and think Sam should've tried to get his brother out of friggin' purgatory.

Although at the same time, it kinda made me even more annoyed at Sam, 'cause he was doing what he wanted while Dean fought bloodthirsty leviathon. Hmph. -.-

My fingers hit the send button mid word. You allowed Sam to grieve and start to heal without turning him into an overly emotional teenage girl.

The show does not make a good case for "Samelia", but your story did. I loved her quiet strength and understanding. I loved Sam "bonding" with Baby. Must admit that the spoilt cocoa is a shootable offense. I literally cringed reading that part. I was channeling Dean there for a moment. Great story. I was nausea free reading it, unlike when I'm watching the flashbacks, especially the last ones.
