If anything that Atem felt like a figment of Yami's own regrets and more - in his desire to be perfect and hold up expectations along with his own demons, Yami forgot he's human like everyone else and that his bonds with Yugi and co makes him feel alive.

it seems like this ver of Atem is a manifestation of all of Yami's insecurities, fears, doubts, and uncertainties; his name's right, but everything else - could it be its just to test him to see if he's worthy to keep Yugi safe, and ease his fears, and show how far his bond with his friends and Yugi have gotten him, like a way for him to truly remember the promise?

Oh snap! O_O Atem's the evil? Dang. Poor Yami's gonna have a mid-life crisis when this is over. Though he's about to lose it after seeing Yugi in that state.

Chao- It's kinda funny how a mere second got to a lot of readers in the past chapter. Anyway, this was a great story! So much had happened for suspense in plot and grabbing these characters' emotions!

YChao- I'm glad to see that Yugi got a bigger role as the story progressed. But I don't mind how Atem was written out. I liked him. I loved the game suspense in this!

Chao- And for the writing of this story, it's good to see you using dashes and parenthesis; they make those lines stand out more instead of relying only on commas and periods. The writing you have done seems to be a little different from your previous works, but in a good way. But you may want to go back and tweak some corrections involving word choice or punctuation, like with "definitely" and "defiantly". And what is up with the title of the last chapter?

YChao- I see this as something good. Yugi talking with Yami allowed Yami to get out of his emo-mode. Quite being so emo, Yami!

Chao- Based on the actions for this story, it seemed legit. And what about the title for this story? It does seem to refer to the game Yami plays against Atem to save Yugi, but the themes of promises (between Atem and his father, between Yami and Yugi) and memories (Yami, obviously) were also presented quite strongly. Could you base a title on that?

YChao- You mean, something that isn't a cliché, right?

Chao- Hey, the reason above is more valid than just that; it gives an alternative! Anyway, really loved this story!

Chao- The heck, Yami!? You cry so much for protecting Yugi, yet you can't even do a simple thing like that?! It's no wonder you're so angsty!

Yami- Hey! You're supposed to review the story in this comment box! Not complain to me about me!

YChao- Yes, and that will be done upon finishing the story.

Chao- But this is still a review; authors write something to give readers reactions to something, and we're reacting right now! So that just means the writer had managed to write out your whiny scenes so well!

Yami- I am not whiny!

YChao- Then get off your butt and play this game! Or fail and let Yugi fall into the hands of Atem. I'm perfectly ok with that.

It was short, but great :D :D :D I wish Yami could become a real person and then jump over rainbows with Yuugi and live happily ever afterrr :) Because I love rainbows.

I loved that final quote 'And so the dominos fell, and the search for Yami's memories began to take on a whole new meaning. But as long as they were together, they would find them, most defiantly.'

But- did you mean 'they would find them, most DEFINITELY'? Not defiantly?

I'm pretty sure it's not the last time we'll see of him in this story... But anyway, I loved this chapter. You did great on adding suspence near the end and I wasn't completely sure you were going to let Yami win! But I'm glad that you did, yet I do feel kind of bad for Atem, even if he was sort of mean to Yami. I'm not sure if they ever will meet again but I'm sure the next time Atem's around, things will get interesting.
