It somehow just feels unfair that when Ron finally gets to have a love relationship with Hermione, it has to coincide with the death of Fred.

I like how you depict him here, not coping so well, but finding some comfort and resolve from his two friends (that trio friendship is just as strong as the love between R/Hr... That's what battling mountain trolls and evil wizards together does to you). One of these friends just also happens to be his girlfriend too now. And I love how you made the simplicity of his love powerful enough to help him overcome the grief and sorrow for a moment. That's what true love does.

Finally, thank you for bringing 'the Latecomer' back here. This is the rare oneshot that I still vividly remembered, almost six months after reading it. Yes, it was that good.

And yet another well-done piece. Ron dealing with everything the only way he knows how...turning inward. As the youngest of six brothers, it's no wonder he often felt overlooked - he had to figure out how to get through everything on his own (or chance the twins trying to pull something over on him...)
