guestagain chapter 1 . 1/24/2013 *Got away from Russia* To up the review count, here's the rest of my thoughts on this fic. Yeah Feckin Awesome plot. I think a prequel and a sequel- what started the conflict, and the wedding would be great to read. And someone needs to draw some of this- it would make an awesome comic on tumblr. |
guest chapter 1 . 1/24/2013 Wow. Major feels in this fic. America surviving is such a relief, usually this kind of plot is more tragic when I read fics set in the future. I like the idea of the Anglo-American alliance, also. Poor France, he didn't see that coming. China and India won the war of economy, huh? Ivan: Russia will be featured in next story, da? Me: Eeep. Quick, write the sequel. *Runs away from Russia* |
SamuraiSal1 chapter 1 . 1/14/2013 What on earth-how does this have one review. You're like the best USUKUS author there is, so how the heck...? Screw it, I'm gonna review the living daylights out of this. First off, this is absolutely fantastic for a futuristic setting. As much as I hate seeing my country fall, whether in a Hetalia or anything else, my heart aches a little. But you honestly made this... gorgeous. The writing, the characterization, everything. I loved the marriage-alliance proposal, I loved the sweet, sweet way they come across, even to the other nations but especially when alone. _Especially when alone. The ending notes were quite sad to read, though. It was almost heartbreaking to read the description of him remembering everything he no longer possessed, power-and-money-wise, though it certainly makes up for it with the next bit. Maybe I'm just a sucker for him being gentle with England, but I adored the description of him "tracing England's spine." All of it-gosh, I swear I'm going to get cavities one day, just from how amazing amazing amazing your characterization and mix of domestic and realistic way of portraying the pair of them. The mention of India and China talking was quite a pleasure to read as well. I've never been a huge fan of either, but acknowledging them as, generally speaking, the powers that would take over if America (the actual country) would fall... I have to say, they might actually have to form alliances in that scenario. Seeing it in this, it was quite welcome to read. For some reason that struck a rather lovely chord. I'm going to stop spamming you right quick, but a few more mentions because my brain went into overdrive the first time I read this: The way England and America interacted at the meeting. I _adored the description of them being openly affectionate in front of everyone, and that defensive maneuver from Canada? Fantastic. Your description of America's new physique was lovely as well; I've never been a huge fan of lengthy descriptions but it seems that most authors either put too much or too little, and you don't have that problem as yours was the perfect balance of describing but not over-doing it. Props to you. Anyways I'm going to start feeling embarrassed for writing so much, but I really can't help it: When I see a fic I adored and realized that I hadn't left a review, I feel the need to list in detail everything I loved about it. (Though you can be assured that I loved even more than I wrote about this, I just honestly can't find the words past a certain point.) |
