Experiencing homophobia. It's different, but Puck IS a lower-class Jewish boy in white-bread Ohio as well as the son of well-known town lothario/dead beat and a negligent, indifferent single mother. I bet he had his experiences with both antisemitism and classism! The classism incidentally coming from Kurt too btw. Being handsome and athletic shields you only so much...

Wow, didn't see Kurt telling him that much about the situation! That was a surprise.

I didn't read this story for the longest time. Because I absolutely hated the summary: that first sentence re Schue was so mindboggingly hypocritical an issue for him to take ND to task for that I simply couldn't stomach reading a fic that supposedly operated with such terrible characterization. It's like Sylvester being touted as the perfect person to give sensitivity and tact coachings... So I skipped.

I finally did give it I try though, as obvious by reviewing chapter 15 ;) And since the insanity of Shue of all people bemoaning a lack of musical discretion was immediately adressed, I figured the characters couldn't be as OOC as the summary threatened. Glad I was right!

This is really well-written, plotted and I find the characterization well-thought out! You have their voices down imo. And the reason I'm stopping now to review (and offer concrit with the accolades) rather than earlier praise only, is because I couldn't stop clicking the next chapters. So, please take it as a compliment.

Your Kurt imo is starting to veer into Kurt!Sue/Stu territory occasionally and I'm hoping the authorial/every character ever!mindless cheering section does get a little more balanced again. After all, don't we like Kurt because he's complex and canonically flawed (ie. spoiled, shallow, egocentric, manipulative, insecure about his looks and attractiveness during high school, prude, less educated about GLBT-issues than he should be: hello bi-phobia) to offset all his good characteristics? Rather than a boring, inhumane embodiment of perfection? It's certainly what makes him my favorite, after Puck.

What stopped me in my reading tracks now however was a really jarring contradiction to one of your main themes - and the main motivation for Kurt and also fic!Adam. The whole thing rests on the absolute abhorrence of outing someone, no matter how vile and horrible a person and what they've done to you. Your Adam insists on pretending Kurt (and only Kurt in the supposed performance!) was so wonderful, singing a line or two with ND where he's not a main performer at all, that he flew all over the country to randomly see him... Just to avoid saying Kurt filmed an "It gets better"-clip! Which isn't that shocking for an already out kid... And here they stand in the middle of school, Adam blithely talking to Kurt about Puck being out or not! Making assumptions about a strangers sexualty, in public! All while both of them ignore the actual topic of discussion of straight or gay standing right next to them. WTF?! That's the exact opposite of what they supposedly stand for here. Not to mention rude on a Sue at her worst-level. That scene left a really bad taste for me. And it left my head spinning because it so doesn't mesh with any of your otherwise consistent plotting and characterization.

BTW as a tip from someone who has met Lambert twice: he's been legendarily friendly and gracious with fans in the early days of his career. Even with really, really weird and frankly batshit insane ones. The internets didn't lie about that. The scenario that he'd be overwhelmed by Rachel's acts here and letting it show, needing to be rescued by super!Kurt, actually mocking Rachel's behavior behind her back (eye-rolling etc.) is definitely way OOC. That guy remained unflustered, friendly and polite with hysterical 60year old, overweight pensioners throwing themselves at him. So, Rachel-craziness and egomaniac ways? He'd probably be delighted to listen to her, insisting everyone else gets a turn too. And finding she CAN sing (as do the others, Mercedes, Puck, Artie, Santana to name the strong voices) beamingly suggest a group-number...

I hope my long review doesn't come across as too negative. I do like your fic, a lot! And I certainly wouldn't have bothered to point out that imo huge inconsistency if you didn't have me invested in your tale. So, I'll be reading on.

I'm not even in the glee fandom anymore, haven't been for around over a year but whenever I see an update of this story I still love it and I still get excited! Karofsky is still a creep. Kurt and his values aren't working... I think it was Einstein who said that attempting the same thing repeatedly whilst expecting different results was the very definition of insanity. Sexual assault (that kiss counts as it was unwanted and unwelcome), assault and battery and destruction of property don't warrant tea and cookies, but a visit from the constabulary.

Oh girl you really must post more of this! Please please please finish this story! I love that it starts with Puck wanting to protect Kurt. I've read many Puckurt stories where there's little to no lead up, just the boys jumping in bed together. I love that Adam knew Puck has feelings for Kurt & that Kurt denied it. I really hope you finish this story.

Yay! Kissing happened! I'm so happy. Kurt seems a bit conflicted, though. Poor guy. But soooon. Soon they will get their stuff together.

I'm very glad Noah's mom took it so well. Family dinner would be interesting.

I think if Puck rephrased his statement of him wanting Kurt and touching Kurt. Then maybe Kurt wouldn't have bolted. I think Kurt got the wrong impression and Puck unfortunately gave the wrong impression. I do hope they will be able to work things out, though. Can't wait to see the Puckerman's family dinner.

Got to love Ruth. Even if she doesn't know about Kurt, and how could she not? She knows her son will win his heart.

Nooo, I never want to say goodbye to Adam. Now he and Kurt have to be friends permanently!

I see what you did there, Adam, you sneaky guy. So many squealy noises happening over Adam Lambert giving Kurt his second -but first that counts, obvs- kiss. Now maybe Puck will realize he wants to make with the Kurt-kissing himself. :D
