Love this. The only proper angst about Jack in the piles I've read so far. You skillfully bring out a very difficult side of Jack that people always attempt to capture, but fail to do so. The last line. Absolutely beautiful. The words are like a chime, little and clear as the jingle of a bell, but it hits with the magnitude of an explosion. And not the cheesy action movie kind, I'm talking mountain destroying explosives that deafen those too close to it. Wonderful. You've more than earned a "follow author" from me. Keep it up.

Ooooh, this is delicious. I love angsty/dark Jack. I totally get what you said in your AU at the beginning! Jack's character has so much angstful, in-depth potential. There's so much more of him to be explored than what was shown in the movie. Not that the movie wasn't fabulous of course - but this is also fabulous! do you plan to continue?

Haven't seen the movie yet but you have set the scene for a very compelling character! Can't wait to read more!
