GlysMari chapter 5 . 7/31/2017 So good to see you back. I've always enjoyed your Solona. |
ThePastaDragon chapter 4 . 7/27/2017 Aww man this has the makings of being great just like the first one. It's too bad there's been no update since 2014. I hope you're alright, and that you'll get the interest you need to continue this story. |
Wolkin chapter 4 . 6/20/2014 I am beyond happy to see an update for this. I absolutly love Following Fate and can't wait to see what awaits Marian and Tarbaas/Arishok :D I wonder if you will bring the Inquisition into your story. Would be interesting to meet Iron Bull and maybe a Tal Vashoth Inquisitor. |
GlysMari chapter 4 . 6/20/2014 I always enjoy seeing one of your updates. Your characters are so real, you can almost touch them. Cyrano is quite the appealing charmer. He and Solona are perfect for each other. |
Vakariansyndrome chapter 3 . 5/12/2014 More please! I just finished the first part of your lovely story! You're a great write and have woven together a very captivating story. |
RakeeshJ4 chapter 3 . 1/18/2014 Ouch! Powerful accidental storytelling there. Neat way to sneak in some backstory, that! Something else occurred to me-if Hawke only barely tolerated mages aside from Bethany, one wonders just how much guilt she would ever have conceivably thought about killing Anders-or whether his actions were a betrayal of her at all, given that she rather openly was a partisan of the Templars-except where family was concerned. Heh. I'm growing more frustrated with her past selfish hypocrisy the more I consider it! |
RakeeshJ4 chapter 2 . 1/18/2014 Well, you did warn me, but nevertheless I'm rather appalled at Hawke here. Asked to help the Qunari's important mission-for it surely offers no benefits to Merrill or even the Dalish-she's given a slave overseer and then when she makes a halfhearted, mild complaint at being watched and barely tolerated by the people who *asked* her to be there...Hawke basically warns her that she risks having her tongue be ripped out and/or death or slavery if she slips up, and if she does it wouldn't be Hawke's problem. I suppose it's just sad, really, that Hawke's daughter would so distrust and even despise mages not related to her by blood. I'm sure, after all, that Hawke made no mistakes in her life that a judgmental sort-of-friend-but-only-barely might then throw in her face later. Mistakes that would completely overshadow what was otherwise a lifetime of sacrifice for the welfare of others. I wish Merrill had some spine, but of course she doesn't and Hawke is quite willing to abuse that. And I can't complain of your portrayal of Hawke, since it's in keeping with her past portrayal and her attitude is quite Thedosian after all. So while I disapprove morally of the attitude your character embodies, as storytelling it's quite appropriate. I do wonder though if/when this work continues Hawke would moderate her suspicious contempt for Talan. She seems capable of seeing mages as actual people when she grows up with them, at least, which is praise of a sort. *snort* I wonder if she even realizes she would likely force her father to either lie, die, or be mutilated and enslaved if she were to encounter him now? |
KalikaK chapter 3 . 7/15/2013 I really enjoyed this and following fate, many thanks for writing them. I hope you write many more chapters |
JadeObsession chapter 3 . 6/28/2013 i am utterly fascinated by this, as well |
Udontneedaname chapter 3 . 1/25/2013 Oh, oh, poor Kithshok :( Another wonderful chapter, I love the realism of your stories! Please keep up the good work! |
GlysMari chapter 3 . 1/24/2013 Well done. As always, your writing is a true pleasure to read. |
great northern one chapter 2 . 12/26/2012 fantastic i cant wait for more and im glad merrill is with hawk |
GlysMari chapter 2 . 12/16/2012 Glad to see that you found a place for Vassa in your writing. I like the nickname. A hottie in his own right and a favorite of mine for taking out Petrice. You do your characters so well, it will be interesting to see how Merrill develops. I've always considered her personality charming. |
Riverdancekat09 chapter 2 . 12/16/2012 First things first: YOU'RE BACK YOU'RE BACK YOU'RE BACK *glomp* Second, review: As much as I will miss Varric and Isabela, I'm interested to see how Merrill will fit in with the narrative. Following Fate took Marian and her followers beyond their roles, and made them PEOPLE. You've introduced a bone of contention here, along with a chance for Merrill to grow beyond her canon character - namely, that of a kitten holding a rocket launcher. Welcome back, kadan. |
Love your work chapter 2 . 12/15/2012 Yay! I am so happy that there is a sequel! I've been missing Taarbas/Arishok and Hawke! |
