This? Is EXACTLY the Diane/McGee fix I've been waiting for since Devil's Trifecta! I LOVED their chemistry together, and really do almost wish that there was more to the couch incident than cuddles! Kudos for expanding on one of my favorite episodes in such a delightful way.

My, it's been more than two years since you wrote this and I feel that's it's a shame than I just found this ! I laughed soo much not only to the Diane-Abby-McGee trio scenes but also to Gibbs-McGee-Fornell scenes as well ! And probie Bert was the best of all ! I know that you are an Abby and McAbby fan. Personally I don't think that Abby is the best person for McGee, she's too volatile and I find her emotionally unstable. One episode she cares about Tim and the other episode she mistreats or mocks him, flirts with other men in front of him, calls him a dog murderer. I still remember her reaction in Extreme Prejudice, when Ziva came to announce her that McGee was released from the hospital-and he was badly injured, his injuries being the worst of all the others's-she answered carelessly " good, he has a scar to show now". It wasn't a reaction to the bombing because she showed enough concern for Tony and Ziva ! But I loved your story, it was nice to have a light-hearted fiction after reading so many dark fictions.. another excellent prologue which i giggled all the way through. not quite the end match i was hoping for but it does work all the same.

A wonderful piece, absolutely loved the whole thing, the McAbby (of course!), Gibbs and Fornell finally coming to terms with their relationship with Diane, Tony’s ‘advice’, the whole team dynamic was super, and Diane ‘smelling’ her exes was fabulous! Probie Bert and Gibbs telling Tim to take the hippo back to the lab...totally yummy!

I laughed all the way through this one. Gibbs' comment about Diane being "in captivity" was priceless. Kind of fitting as she is definitely a cougar. I almost wished that she and Tim HAD had an affair. After all, he's a good looking guy and she's not only a beautiful woman but hot stuff to boot. Maybe they would have been good for each other.

Drunken Abby was funny, but drunk Tim was funnier still, especially the maraschino cherries in his coffee.

Diane's pursuit of Tim has certainly been a wake up call to Abby not to take for granted that Tim will always be available as a boyfriend. The Hippo love at the end was a cute touch.

OMG. I love this. I've also thought how it's "I love you like I love hippos..." Hippo love is the best kind. And it's also my head canon that Bert is a gift from McGee to Abby. So it's kind of really a symbol of their love. It really is.

Loved the story. How Diane gave an ultimatum to Abby - which I personally did not take s real. I felt like you'd meant that she just wanted to "help" Abby make up her mind. (But maybe I'm wrong, and you really meant Diane was also interested in McGee...in reality) But I really liked how Abby was finally able to make up her mind. And even if it scares her, she'd willing to give McAbby a 'try' ... til forever...

HIPPO LOVE! Thanks for that. Love how Tony said Bert is now a probie. And the note Abby left for Tim. And how hippo love is deep and big, and includes all the things McAbby has ever wanted."...
