Don't know if you even visit your account anymore, but I just got done reading your short story here, and I laughed and smirked like an idiot the whole way through. Loved all the characters, loved the attention to detail, and the movie like beginnings you included with your chapters. Juxtaposition was great and timely also.

Hilarious and very expectable dialogue from all the Characters like Kia, Pallo, and Ganorn.

Loved the Tupari sports drink bit. Especially when he started mumbling insanities.

Moxi was quite the idiot also. And Freeman had every right to get what he did from trying to hire such a incompetent ball of fat.

Oh these poor people. You feel sorry for most of them trapped in something going nowhere-and yet you can't help but laugh. But I liked that. I liked that you laughed and at the same time wanted them to rise above their situation-Ganorn and Kia for certain! It was a great combination of humor and personal scenes that put you on the side of the characters.

The lines and names in the "movie" scenes were hysterical!

Dude 'A cunning plan?' after that I couldn't help picturing Freeman as Blackadder and Moxi as Baldric, bloody fucking hilarious!

And Rima and Listor? Rimmer and Lister? Way to blow my f# king mind! pfft 'armed and slightly dangerous' LMFAO!

Couldn't stop smiling reading this. This was a very fun read. Feels very much like a theatrical play.
This is one of those stories that could work fine on its own, but because its with the aliens we all know and love gives it that edge. Furthermore, the characters you've created are real. Some of the best stories of mass effect aren't fighting Reapers, but one's own conscience. Also makes you believe everything is right in the galaxy. Good job.

Simply put, it was fantastic. I loved this short story to pieces. Now why I did might take a bit longer to explain.
Firstly, the characterization was brilliant, each character was quite unique and at the beginning though they started as cliches (the fallen star, the aspiring writer, the mysterious beauty, the shy newcomer, the gentle giant, ect.) they grew into more complex characters. Though I do want more of these characters as I feel we have only scratched the surface as to what they bring to the table, the old art of never over indulging applies here. Leave 'em wanting more as they say and do I ever want to see more of the characters.
The dialog was probably the best bit about this, with each character sounding just like themselves, I soon drew alliances to the characters I liked and didn't like. At the beginning, I wanted John Freeman to pull it off, to succeed. Being in a director role myself in the past, I felt for him. I understood his plight and wanted him to overcome the odds. This could be attributed to the dialog which really brought these characters to light.
The overall narrative (plot), though not really important in a story like this, was still great. I enjoyed the climax of the story and how you made it into a parody at some points (the "artistic" ending of production smacks a lot like something that I just recently played... Hmmm) which really worked well and brought another type of comedy into the story. I do hate it when there is only crass comedy or just black humour in a story. I find a mix often makes a more complex story.
My only complaint is that we did not see the end of the specific characters of Pallo the hanar and John Freeman. Everyone else has a described ending (in the well done italicized ending) except these two who seem slightly absent or skipped over. It just made the story end rather abruptly and feel disjointed at the end. Though it does have an interesting "Gotta carry that weight" feel to the end (to quote the Beatles and Cowboy Bebop).
Though short I adored this side story and hope to see more like these in the future of this website. Well done!
Ps: What is the purpose of the 27 at the end of story? Just curious if this is a typo.

This is a fantastic story. Everything is really well done in terms of narration, humor, character development, ect. Each character is very "larger than life" and that type of characterization fits perfectly with what is going on here. The humour is also very good with the stand out moments being the "punny" sex jokes or the "witty dialog" the writers wrote. I tend to go towards fiction that expands the universe, tries to explore new avenues and ideas we, the audience, haven't thought of before. This is a perfect example of this and has truly made me consider a whole new aspect of the mass effect universe.
I can't wait to see more and find out what happens, you've got a fan.

Nice. There weren't many 'laugh out loud, moments- a few don't get me wrong- but I find this fic inexplicably charming. A disaster of a porno shoot really shouldn't be charming, yet I find myself smiling at the mannerisms of the characters.

I think the best characters are Ganorn and Xantar. Ganorn in particular is unusually sweet for an alocholic, self-indulged dis-illusionist.
